How long you been watching Wakey ? our best players have been going to Leeds since time began ! I am pleased Kath is with us, she has a long history of RL administration and deep knowledge of the rugby side of things plus contacts everywhere - its inexperience and naivety in these areas that has got us in this mess, at least give the new folk time to fix it

| Thank goodness teams like Salford, Saints and Leeds are prepared to pay us some cash. I'm sure that there is the usual vulture team just circling hoping for us to have to release players for free or a pittance.

Mind games in this quote.
As a replacement, i would take McShane, decent goalkicker into the equation also.
We have been able to get a fee for two overseas players.
I don't think that's bad business. Get another couple of gamble/not in the spotlight overseas to come across this year and sell em on later.
Will be rolling in the money in not too long!

| I'm going to speculate for a moment. Taking the transfer fees for Smith and Amor, soon to be Aiton and Cockayne, and based on a rough average salary of what these 4 might have earned over the next 12 months, I would hazard we are nearing pocketing somewhere in the region of half a million. What dent that estimated salary saving/transfer income puts in our outstanding debt, any future skeletons in any future closets, or investment in recruitment moving forward is yet to be established.

| 70 for Smith, 50 for Amour, 70 for Aiton and 30 for BC, I'd say you're well out mate, £220,000 max!

Isn't our salary cap set to be 200k lower than last season (£1.1m verses £1.3m), which is due to the reduction in tv funding we are receiving thanks to the RFL paying our tax bill? So there isn't really any impact on the debt from salary savings as our guaranteed income is less.

| gowerthegroap is taking the salaries into consideration not just the fees.
Having said that, it's that we are underfunded, not just a 300,000 bill that we can payoff.
The fees pay the bills whilst the contracts reduce the figure.
I could be wrong.

| Saving on salaries does not mean there is more money in the club, it just means we are closer to our budge of 1.1mil at least thats the way I read it.

| I'm surprised that Kay, cowling, goulding, Smith, Amor, Aiton, Wilkes leaving from last year so far doesn't put us below that 1.1mill already tbh.

| Had a jog with Aiton last week round pugneys,he told me then he was off to Leeds and could be scrumming down with a couple of mates. That can only mean 2 things.

You forgot to add Mariano, Kyle Wood and now Mellars.
I would think the SKY money should pay for what is left of our squad and maybe leave us with a bit of 'change'

| The main thing is you kept Kirmond - and he's the guy you'll be able to build a team round steadily over the next coming years, should you avoid being relegated.
Otherwise, it's crucial the books balance if you do get relegated in order to survive the year in the lower league - so getting £70k for Aiton, all things considered I don't think is too bad.
There'd have been other vulture clubs looking for a cheaper deal than that you can guarantee

Daily Star ran the story last week.
If that helps confirm or deny it.

Probably turned their noses up at Ellis and Poching too. They didn't do too badly for them.

A bit like they did when Leeds were signing Gareth Ellis?
They'll soon change their opinion when he's had a few good runs in a Leeds shirt.

| I hope we have been in a position to keep our powder dry regarding any fee until after the world cup (if he is going of course) - you'd be mad to sell a player who is in it just beforehand. Imagine if he has a couple of stormers for PNG on the world stage, his stock would go up as a result.
Case in point see Mose Masoe, I would hazard that his worth has increased after that performance against NZ the other night - and had Saints not signed him up he could be in much more demand.
