| To waste an interchange on the worst player in the squad (lyne) is bad enough. To then not use said player especially with the reduced interchange in a tight energy saping game is ridiculous, I just can't get my head round it. Who knows what would have happened with a fresh Wildie or Annakin on. Then agar blames decision making for defeat you couldn't make it up.

| Superb? The effort was definately but the lack of composure at crucial times and a lack of last tackle options meant the performance was far from it. Too many errors at vital times cost us dearly, things like the missed penalty, terrible kick from which jones-bishop scored, knock-ons at crucial times, especially Poores, kicking out on the full etc etc. Leeds were they for the taking again but we blew it. Decent showing yes but nowhere near superb.

| Quote ="Adam_Harrison9"Effort tonight was outstanding. Execution was an improvement on last week. However... once again we manage to concede after a last tackle kick on the opposition line. Once again, L. Smith somehow manages to kick dead from kick off (why not go for the sideline when we are losing?!). =#FF0000Mathers has a brainfart and knocks the ball dead with no-one within 10 metres of him. Take the two in teh first half when we're 20 metres out... that's just negative in my eyes.
Thaler:
- gives intentional knockdown in Leed's favour after wakey player commits to tackle and Leeds passer throws ball against him - gives Leeds the decision when it happens the other way around, also.
- Blatant shoulder charge before one of Leed's tries.
Can't blame him for the aforementioned brain farts though.'"
In all fairness to Mathers the ball when kicked by Leeds hit Lee Smiths foot and Mathers saw that so tried to keep it in play, But I think the ball played the man so he should have just let it go, So no fault with Mathers on that one for me.

| Would have put my house on Lee Smith kicking that penalty. He should have stood back and waited until Leeds players were stood under the sticks. At the time there was a 2 minute drinks break called. He'd no need to rush the kick. Thought he'd have had more experience in that situation.
Some dumb plays cost us points AGAIN. The Tim Smith grubber through that led to the full length try, the Lee Smith kick out on the full that led to a try, the Poore knock on from a forced pass that put Leeds a point up towards the end. All silly mistakes that cost us 18 points. All silly mistakes that could have been avoided.
Second to last try was a joke. Wakefield defender was clearly held back off the ball. Thaler the clown just nodded his head at the grounding and the linesmen agreed. Would be very surprised if that isn't an unanswered question on twitter 'ask the ref'.
Playing with 16 men against Leeds in 20+ degrees. SUICIDE. Only the coach can be accountable for that. Lyne has sat on the bench for 80 minutes. I don't even know where to begin with the sheer stupidity of such moronic coaching.
All in all a disappointing night and another one of those classic '2 points that got away' games. We really needed those 2 points. We'd have been 8th now and the whole league would have sat up and taken note.

I still think Lee Smith's missed penalty was a crucial factor in the end though...'"
I think the introduction of Mr T was the crucial factor in turning a the game, a game we had controlled up to that point.
1 pen
1 knock on
1 forward pass

| Thalers inconsistency really frustrated me. Like when a Leeds player got taken out its a penalty but when Lee Smith did it was play on. I don't think we will get into the top 8 anyway because I don't think we'll have the bottle to beat Bradford or any of the other teams left to play.

Not sure whether you're a gloating Leeds fan or you genuinely think we lack class. I'll cater for both.
leeds have some superb players, from a set up that's a bit like a production line. Why? because they have money -simple as that. At Wakefield we have to work miracles to get what we get.
Now let's put it into perspective. We should have turned your 'class' team over last night. we matched you in every department so stick your class crap where the sun doesn't shine. We took some wrong decisions and you got some lucky breaks. That's how it goes.
I have to say that some teams don't know how to take it when they lose. I'm afraid a lot of Leeds' supports don't know how to act when they have won.
That's why the loiners are known and disliked the world over .End of.

Apart from Disallowing four Leeds tries, two very harsh, handing you the penalty count, and allowing you to keep 13 on the pitch when you should have been short, yep your right he gave you absolutely nothing .
Why people can not accept what is in front of their eyes I just do not know. You played well, you came close, you were beaten by a team who know how to win. That was the reality.

Agree on this think Thaler apologised after as mathers was looking for him to tell him if ball played man during play. He should have just let it go but Thalers lack of communication didn't help. When we scored the last try we should have shoved it up the jumper and then blasted the ball dead thus taking hall/bjb/hardaker out of the game as they would be only running at a set defense. Cockayne doing a drop off to washbrook at 100 mile an hour didn't help. A bit of smartness at times would have seen us home.

| As said effort superb but too many mistakes at crucial times led to a Leeds win.
Last kick plays to BJB or Ryan Hall think kicking it dead and setting defence up would be a better option against a world class Leeds back line who have serious pace also thought this would have been discussed?
As said last year in discussions we lack pace in our backs which is why we bought Lynne but then tried to turn him into a centre which hasn't worked out.
Wildie should have been on bench and brought him on for last 20 at dummy half moving Aiton to loose. Wildie has a kicking and passing game also taking a little pressure off both Smiths. He's also got some pace which could have troubled a tiring Leeds defence.
I hope Tautai calms down a little and doesn't continue to make as many mistakes as some last night led to a try and in part cost the game. Other School boy errors like kicking out on full by Lee Smith from kick off shouldn't happen at this level, should have gone short.

That's why I came away the most frustrated from a game in a while. We clearly haven't learned from the numerous times in the last couple of games we've conceded to Leeds from kick returns on their own line. It happened twice last year at Headingley with Hardaker and BJB, and it cost us in that game. Their running in broken play compared to ours is, in my opinion, the main difference between the two teams. Despite our errors at crucial times, if it weren't for that BJB length of the field try I think we would have won.

I would like to see Ablett's match winner again as I'm sure he pulled Smith back with out the ball before going on to ground it.'"
Absolutely bang on.
Not using all 17 on a hot evening is bonkers and there was a definite holding back incident on Smith.
Yet again the ref made some poor, poor decisions but, ultimately we couldn't capitalise on the pressure that we had.

Have to agree.....Wildie should have been 18th man and not Lyne...okay you can't legislate for Kirmond having an adverse reaction to a painkilling injection, as has been reported this morning, but what is the point having someone sitting on the bench for 80 minutes
Tautai was trying too hard IMHO...perhaps he wanted to make an impact on his first game back, and it just didn't happen for him, but I believe he is a class act and will set up some tries for us in the not-too-distant future !!
Lee Smith kicking out on the full WAS a schoolboy error, but what was equally frustrating was that he had previously done a superb kick off (when Leeds had just gone back in front), and managed to kick it into touch Danny Brough style, but then on the following kick off just punts it up in the air, for Leeds to catch, and as for him being "taken out" on the grubber kick to the line, don't get me started on that one... he runs into the defender every time then falls on the floor like he's been shot, well I'm sorry Lee, most refs are wise to that one !!!
All that being said, I thought it was a superb effort from the boys, and was the most entertaining game I have seen from them this season...keep up the good work..

| We had 4 sets of 6 in a spell in the first half and came away with nothing. Leeds would have ground down the opposition with that much ball. We came back up the field and instead of dropping a goal, Tim puts grubber through, BJB goes the length of the field and instead of 7 points up and ball back, it's all square with defending to do against a Champion team with their tails up. On the other thread about last Fridays game, mentioned that Leeds have a knack of pulling a rabbit out of the hat when it matters. Unfortunately the assistant aiding them last night, was Wakey.

| Showed our limitations last night I'm afraid - no complaints at all about the effort, but our squad is paper thin and some of our players lack the ability to make the right decisions in a tight situation; our game management is haphazard and we don't have the ability to win when a game becomes an arm-wrestle. The only way to fix that is with recruitment, and I'd say a quality 6 should be top of the shopping list. I'd also suggest that we're short at least one pacey winger - if the rumours linking us to Adam Swift have any basis in reality, that could be a decent straight replacement for Foxy.
On the positive side, our forwards once again out-muscled the Champions, with Amor, Poore and Raleigh dominating the Leeds pack. I also thought Aiton played a bit more freely and as a result, made us more unpredictable from DH - if he continues to play like that, he could be a force next season.
Overall, I'd suggest that Agar has wrung about as much as he can from this group of players; this off-season is crucial in terms of trimming some dead wood and bringing in two or three key individuals to take WTW to the next level.

| I don`t think Wakefield are that far off a top 6 side or at the very least a top 8.
You are lacking a shrewd half back someone like Briers who would have done a job for a year.
A decent fullback who can run the ball back and chime into the line and a decent centre.
Your forwards when fit are a match for most SL teams and certainly seem to have the beating of our pack every time we play you.
How on earth we let Amor go and keep the likes of Kirke god only knows.
Good to see the Leeds old boys Mathers and Smith help us again just like Fox and Smith the week before

Is that what happened? Can't see the tryline from the North Stand so had no idea what happened with any of the tries or action at that end. Also see what everybody means about the PA system in there. Could hardly hear a thing from it, even when the crowd was quiet.
