well glad thats out of the way,a very rusty performance which given the conditions it was to be expected,the game finished panthers 22 oulton raiders 14.

the scoreline was a good reflection on the game which was played in good spirit and a lot of credit to the raiders who played there hearts out.

onwards and upwards and a trip to the east side of hull next week.

We've just had a friendly with Heworth today and won 46-0, theyve got a good bunch of lads and some athletes but need to regroup.

We played some good stuff in parts, most pleasing that the lads also identified areas they want to improve.

Strange afternoon with the referee injured after 20mins, ambulance was called and after a 40 min delay and a sub referee we got back under way. Hear the referee is ok so all good.

A great first half performance laid the foundations for the win today,
from the kick off the Stanley Rangers U14s took control and made it hard for the Widnes St Maries side to even get out of their half, racing to a 22-0 lead
just before H/T they managed a good break to pull the score back to 22-4.

second half then became a real battle to get passed each other defensive line each scoring once more.

final score 26-10

Featherstone Lions 20 vs 16 Stanley Rangers Reds U13s

Rangers Reds went into this game without two of their major strike players including one who's averaging a try every 12 minutes. Despite not having any other warm up games and playing against opposition that's been placed three divisions above them, Reds aquited themselves magnificently. The match was superb to watch, being played at full ferocity but without any unsavoury incident which was a credit to both teams.

Some superb handling was on show, there were some rampaging running and the hits, especialy from the Reds front rowers, were brutal.

This is only the 10th game for Reds since their formation when they only had 9 players and augers well for the coming season.

Changes to u12 division 1, looks like Eastmoor and Siddal requested to be moved down, only 8 in the group now.

wonder why eastmoor want to move down?? silver hunting in div 2??

Strange thing to do at 12s if so, they did win some games last year.

yes, beat us in the cup and we were very much looking forward to playing them this season with a larger squad. bit of a shambles when the top division only has 8 teams and the other divisions have more !

Seems like they have increased u12s to five divisions??

Sure last week there were only four.

I can maybe understand Siddal dropping down,like my lads team(Greetland - theyve gone into div 3) a bit unsure of what to expect after the West Riding league.

First weeks fixtures for the U12's are up.
Its a shame Eastmoor have dropped a division I always liked going up there. It seemed to add a bit of spice and produced some tough games.
Cup match for Crigg at Stanley this weekend.

Actually just seen Greetland are now in div 4 -- dont really see the point of a top eight play off when there are only 8 teams in each division.

I may be wrong, but don't think 'moor won a 'league' game last year. Could be pot hunting, or maybe the coach's are worried aboutv the affect losing every week has on the kids? Either way i wish them well for the season.

East Hull away on Sat for Cas Panthers, then on with the serious stuff
