"Lungs of the Earth" refers to Rainforests and I suppose you could say it could be used for trees in general.

Much of the land (as far as I can tell) is fields not forest or woods.....and I seem to rememebr the trees that are there are being retained as much as possible.

Lets also not forget an additional 1% is to be added to the green belt in the district, maybe LCC have and they need reminding.

Reading AG's tweets, it seems LCC are being questioned by Yorkcourt and LCC's argument seems to be falling to pieces while I type.

Sue Speak up now on behalf of LCC, dealing with there planning side. Summary first, then questions.

LCC main objection is on the Green Belt issue.

LCC claim we have ruled out any other site, as this one is available. Also don't know why we haven't looked at other sites.

LCC claim we don't need such a large site, or that it could be split over a number of sites.

York Court are questioning now and ask if Leeds have an issue with the Stadium, which they claim no issue.

LCC agree that Wakefield do need all we are asking for!

LCC agree that we need a developer to build all we need to deliver the full application, including the Stadium!

So, LCC agree we need a stadium, we need more B8, need more jobs and need a developer to provide the funding. Come on now!!

LCC just presume we could share with Castleford, but have no evidence to back it up. They haven't really looked into it.

LCC suggest we build the b8 elsewhere and the stadium at Newmarket! Surely green belt is green belt!

Keith Wakefield has been shown up for the grub he is, his only motivation for this is self preservation as Methley Councillor and therefore leader of the LCC.

He's sent Sue Speak in to try and fight HIS corner and the poor woman's getting hung out to dry!

When tested by the most obvious of questions the LCCs objections have fallen apart like wet tissue. Their only argument is that they don't want this built near Leeds, well hard Effin lines!

Keith Wakefield has been bullied into this because he's too weak to stand up to a militant residents group fronted by June Fender. With her at his throat he's made promises he can't keep just to secure his position as Methley Councilor. He's then used his influence as leader of the LCC to fight a fight that has nothing to do with Leeds and has used an argument that has zero substance just so he can say he tried.

The 600 LCC employees who have just lost their jobs due to financial cuts should DEMAND an enquiry into Keith Wakefields frivolous use of LCC money. An estimated £250K that theyve spent on this objection would have helped save many of those jobs.

I think Keith Wakefield was hoping Trinity would lose their franchise and this issue would never ave reached an inquiry but he's gambled and looks like losing, well he should be brought to book for his scandalous misuse of public money.

I went for the last hour today. Very interesting stuff. I'm showing my age now but as a young trinity fan I remember reading the Wakefield Express and reading of a proposed stadium development at Pugneys complete with chair lift to Sandal Castle. I kid you not. So I'm hoping that this one will finally happen.
