| the stanley 12s match is off as per Friday ..shame they don't have enough players to form a team for this weekend something to do with poorly children . Crigg may of been able to organise some kind of friendly but i hopefully the YJL will let us play on wednesday if all kids are well and dare i say back from holidays.
Shame some kids are chomping at the bit at the all blacks some new signings and of course a couple of early retirements but still an healthy number of players...20+ i just hope my child gets some game time and learns under what seems a well structured set up.
any one else watching sons/daughters/family this weekend at grass roots
great to see the smallest of the clan get his new boots mucky for crigg under 8s you go eth

| Eastmoor U13s was victorious over Stanley Rangers this morning, a well organised side took advantage of the slope in the first half running in 4 tries and keep Stanley scoreless.

| well where off and running for the u12s season, this morning cas panthers entertained heworth with the game finishing 28-8 in the panthers favour.
heworth played some good rugby and it was a good test for us,the game had a bit of everything from good rugby to solid defence and even a bit of biff thrown in, exactly what we needed,we now have two very tough assignments with trips to both crigglestone and lock lane in the next two weeks so the fixtures have been very kind to us.

Im sure the biff counter will rise now mr brayton as the age rises and for the first time they play for something. it would of been nice to get a warm up today as the panthers are a great team . its gonna be a busy weekend next week 3 games at junior level i need to take in at different clubs. are heworth in the same group?

heworth were the best team from group 2 last year and were hoping to move up to group 1 this time, but with how the groups have been done it will be interesting to see how they get on against stanley and shaw cross in the coming weeks.
i think the rough stuff will come now too,it was something or nothing a bit of a shove and a push and a couple of punches thrown but at the age they are at its to be expected that tempers will flare from time to time.

Shaw Cross got a big fat 0 and Acorn got 30 something, men against boys.
He played ok, far better than Hickey anyway.

another very good wakefield side eastmoor , its very pleasing to see so much talent around the wakefield, featherstone, cas triangle and when you bring in the neighbouring heavy woolen area RL is still flourishing around this area. why oh why a SL title seems so out of reach is so baffling to me.

i arnt too sure i think they have got it about right, stanley seem to always struggle to get a team on the field and theirs not much between shaw cross and east leeds.
onething is for certain in group1 every game will be very very tough and hard to call the winner.

mutts got to break his vow and agree with this. I was sure they would opt for 8 teams , i really do feel for lee but im guessing that a few bodies must surely start going when the school teams get up and running . I just wonder how many players have gone elsewhere at close season.
I did hear that a certain prop very big for his age had made his way over the border to join yourself rob im not going to name the lad but i was talking to his dad the last time rangers were up at crigg and to the player.
I cannot not wait for the new season might finally get to play on some better pitches but from what i hear and i think you mentioned as well the powers that be have U-Turned on funding and prefer to see our kids break legs ect.
like i said this is a break of of silence may get banned good luck to you and ALL you parents and players next week im very excited as is my lad who is chomping at the bit.

| Well Stanley Rangers U14s reached the Wakefield cup final today beating Normanton knights 28 - 10.
it wasn't the walk in the park as they might have expected as Normy came with a fantastic attitude to ship the ball from side to side, their hard work from the start paid off when they took a deserved lead.
Stanley's efforts wasn't making any impression as mistakes was costing them field position, by the end of the first half they had manage to claw them selves back into game with two converted tries to hold a 12-6 lead.
With having to then play uphill they moved the score along slowly to make all the scoreline flattering.
While I feel that Stanley hadn't put on the display in what we all know that they can do, it must be also congratulated that Normanton did in the first half look the better team.
