We would be just fine without obst.

I do agree with the comments on his workrate and how this may rub off on youth, however troubles every defence.. That's a bit too far.

On occasion he breaks a line but for a hb he doesnt create all that much and his passing from dummy half was never top draw.

He is a great servant to the club and if he stays Id be happy, but same token should he leave I don't think it will be so detrimental to the team.

As an outsider looking in i would say obst is your most dangerous hooker/half, and the player that causes us most problems when we play you. Jeffries has some a few good games, some average games and a few shockers. Never rated smith at salford and lee has never seemed more than average. Rinaldi is a good hooker, but not a good half.

Not that is matters anyway i fully expect to see obst lineup for you at mm.

I can't argue with too much of that; I think it's mainly the timing that worries me - if Sam were to leave next season, when our wealthy new owner has packed our squad with talent, fair do's. Right now though, with our back against the wall and the whole world against us, his leaving would send all the wrong signals to fans, our own players and the rest of SL; it feels a bit like throwing the towel in.

I agree, we are down to the bare bones and we can't afford to lose Sam this season.

1 Sam obst has never given up in any game i have seen
2.he seems to be appreciated more by other clubs than by our own fans who live in some dream world where hes keeping cameron smith from wakey and has all our home grown talent locked in a cage somewhere.
3. Hes popular with the fans we have left, and it would be a very unclever move to let him go now, of all times.
4. we havnt got a new rich owner yet, so hes all we can afford.

what do some people want??? personally would like benji marshall in sams position but guess what? we havn't got the money...give me a 100 % grafter game in game out with the skill sam has rather than 1 "big time charlie!" anyday.
