Surely you should be able to get a refund on anything you buy from the club within a 28 day period, I believe (if you've kept a receipt)?

It would have to be at the discretion of the club then, I presume. You'd have to contact them.

| Quote ="champagnecharlie"Can someone please explain to me WHY the developer was going to give Wakefield Wildcats £350,000??? is this from York court as a brown envelope payment for letting them use a stadium and sporting facilities as a convenient excuse for getting them the planning permission granted??
OR
Does it mean from the developers/Purchasers of Belle vue??
Answers on a postcard please...................
'"
It means Cala Homes who are buying BV. One of the staged payments (£350k) was due upon planning permission being granted and the appeal period lapsing. As the decision has been called in for a PI this obviously delays the payment from Cala.
I wouldn't be surprised if towards or just after the end of last season the club arranged some finance on the basis that we would be getting the £350k early in the new year as the planning department at WMDC were giving positive noises and with the new government it was believed that the decision would be left at a local level.
Personally, I am confident that if the £500k can be raised the club can avoid Administration - but I'm hoping that the info that's supposedly on its way to me will answer the questions I feel need answering to existing shareholders before I decide whether I'll be putting any money in.
My advice to anyone else considering to putting money in is to be sure that you can afford to treat the £1k (or more if that's what you choose) as money that is being SPENT rather than invested. There is no certainty of getting the money back & the Newmarket benefits may well be discounted rather than free.

Intresting was Sir Rodney Walker given 45000 shares for paying the tax off ?
Sir Rodney is the controlling shareholder of Myerscough Holdings Ltd
Also is Duncan Developments the ground developer who own 75000 shares?

I think that is an old list tbh.
Sir Rodney had his shares from long back - and yes, Myerscough is his.
Duncan developments have not existed for donkeys.

Let me guess he told Ted not to spend any money until he had done some checks on Pearman and Ted ignored him?

| I have only just read the official statement on the club website and to say I am fuming is an understatement.
The arrogance of the BOD knows no bounds. Basically they have totally cocked everything up and then have the temerity to expect others to sort the mess out by donating (cos it ain't an investment) and asking how much the club mean to us. Well how much did it mean to them when they were running it into the ground?
The key point they miss is that the best time that new investment could have been attracted has gone, they are basically expecting it, when we have no cards left to play.
I trust that as they got us into this mess, the BOD will be donating some money out of their own pockets to the 500 grand (but without any shares going their way?)

That's a little bit 'ivory tower'. No-one who went to the shareholders meeting would agree with you because they listened, understood and appreciated the difficulties which come with trying to run the show.
And yes, the BoD did offer to stump up towards the total requirement.
I'm not suggesting that some things couldn't have been done differently, but I have no doubt that people took decisions which they genuinely thought to be right for the club at the time they were taken.

Four points TRB :
(1) It would be interesting to conduct a poll of those who attended the meeting and see if your comment is correct
(2) Assuming you are correct re the views of those who attended the meeting, do you not think it would be a good idea to tell everyone who didn't attend (including non shareholding fans) what was said, they are then more likely to get people to consider investing (sorry donating).
(3) How much are the BOD willing to donate? Shouldn't this be factored in and the number of people required to buy a grand of shares reduced? You may find some people don't bother because i) they don't know how much the BOD are donating; (ii) they believe there is no chance of reaching the target
(4) If we only need GBP 350k to fill the whole why are we asking for GBP 500k? The offer seems to be if we dont raise 500k you can have your money back

Re 2 - I beleive that will be the case shortly.
Re 3 - unsure, but I would imagine details will start to appear shortly - as people sign up.
Re 4 - that is a figure offered by the BoD and the accountant as deemed necessary achieve the aim of the campaign.

TRB, Are you going to be buying a £1000 worth of shares on this latest offering? In your opinion, how many of the existing share holders at the meeting will be contributing to the £500,000 (I understand, this will just be your opinion, but it will be useful to hear, as many of us are feeling like mugs at the minute).

Re 2 - I presume there are legal reasons why they can't say immediately? There can be no other valid reason as we are against the clock here

30% of how many? I know you are probably fed up of all the questions but I only have the best interests of the club at heart like you do.
