| The last few sentences of the statement on one hand they are appealing to the fans, but on the other imply that the situation is the fault of loyal fans and nothing to do with the BOD.

If I'm not willing to sell a kidney, or my programme collection (all I have to give my kids when I'm gone!), to raise a grand, should I never darken Belle Vue again.
Save cash now. Don't apply for a licence, merge Elston, Stephenson and Maskill into one role, start again in the Championship and build the club again. Bar 10 great years from 1958 to '68, and false dawns in '79, '92 and 2004, we're going back to our natural level. Let's face it, we've got the players for that level.
What really winds me up, is not that we're in this mess, but being preached to about how a grand isn't that much. Such arrogance…it's those who should hang their heads in shame, not those who choose that a grand is best spent on their family, bills etc. than a failed rugby club.

| That phrase is the final straw for me. No i can't afford a grand right now. So does that mean i don't care? Even if i could and i chose not to based on a sound business decision, does that mean i don't care? No it doesn't you condecending idoiots. You, the BOD got us into this godawful mess and now you want us to bail you out by tugging on the heartstrings as you disappear off into the sunset. Not a chance. I may as well draw a grand out of the bank and set fire to it in the garden. Let the club die and start again from scratch in the lower leagues with a proper sustainable business plan and people in charge who know their from their elbow.

Whilst I don't agree with your gloating about the demise of our club, I do agree that asking what the club means to me is nothing short of disgusting. Would be interesting to know who drafted this statement.

I don't believe he's gloating about the demise of our club but the demise of a regime within our club.
Look at it this way, which is all assumptions I know.
We are told the interested investors pulled out at the 11th hour after meetings with the RFL and without disclosing to the present board why. Of course they won't discuss with the present board, it's business.
So the interested investors satisfied the RFL with due dilligence when they had a meeting.
What do they do next ?
a) Buy a load of hisoric debt from the present company
b) Wait a month or so whilst the last rights are said over the ashes of the old company and deal with the administrator who will look for the best offer for the club to pay back some of the debts (around 10-20p in the £).
What would you do, New Broom or same Old Broom ? It's a no-brainer.
The share issue is only protecting the present incumbants position longer. Administration is not the end it is a cleansing, it's the beginning and it does not mean that a franchise cannot be granted.

| Best thing for Wakefield would be to accept administration and prey that the RFL don't display their usual "double standards policy" in relegating a great club in favour of a failed experiment sorry I mean expansion!!

| If the club go into admin they definitely lose their license. The club are not operating under the same rules as The Crusaders. I think everyone accepts that.

| If they do go into administration the current board should not be able to buy the club or have any involvement in it's runnings. To me the shares shouldn't be new shares they should be buying out the shares owned by the clowns running the club. Wouldn't touch anything that Mr Richardson partly owns with a barge pole. Even if i had the money as already mentioned i would let the club go into administration and then look at investment. It wouldn't suprise me if someone is waiting to do this. I also agree that this could be our demise regarding superleague. I also fear though if we do drop we will never get back in after countless years staving off money troubles.

So do I, apart from the last part of the last sentence. Regardless of our financial problems, a license would have depended on us delivering Newmarket in time. We haven't, and that's it for us as far as SL is concerned. Only my opinion, of course.

I agree with you; we've had years to deliver a SL compliant stadium and for various reasons, have failed to do so - it's off to the Championship for us.

And how long and how much money is required to deliver one? It's not as easy as just saying it on here - and 6 years ago we wouldn't have got didley from the council - but we now have a fully funded stadium development - circa £20m - and yet many are prepared to give upon the product that goes inside it - I'm not!

There has been alot of hard work put in by various people to NM and that has to be applauded, but in true Wakey style it was always a long shot due to all the issues regarding the designation of the land etc...
There appears to be some serious issues to overcome before it even becomes a remote possibility.
Assuming that these obstacles can be overcome, are you saying that it won't get built if were in the lower leagues?

It makes it more difficult - for sure - but we will continue with it, as SL or not, this is a Community Stadium and the end users are far more varied than a single RL club!

You're absolutely right, and I'm sure you know much more about how difficult that is than most on here, but it doesn't alter the fact that this means nothing as far as the RFL/SL are concerned, especially when there are other clubs who do have the facilities waiting for a chance to be where we are. Newmarket [ihas [/ito become a reality for us to have any club at all, or at least one that vaguely resembles the one we follow at the moment. That much seems obvious to me. You've said yourself that the business plan works for Newmarket whether we play in SL or in the Championship.
Quote ="TRB"and yet many are prepared to give upon the product that goes inside it - I'm not!'"
Since you use the "product" analogy, I don't think people are necessarily giving up on the product - they'd just like to see one in there that works. If this means a scaled-down, no frills version of the one we have, a product we can afford to have, rather than the flashier version we may like to have but clearly can't afford, well, so be it. That's life, isn't it? Cutting your cloth to suit your purse, and all that.
