| We can all say what if. What if Newton hadn't been stupid & taken HGH? What if we hadn't sold Brough? What if Mrs Tronc hadn't been "homesick"? But the fact is we have to go with the 17 that JK picks on the day.
Today's 17 weren't at the races defensively in the first half, but they improved in the second (no doubt after a bollocking from JK). We had a chance to win the game where we had a 3 on 1 overlap but thanks to "Captain Fantastic" got try line fever and blew it.
Yes it was me shouting at JD after the match. I'll give him credit for coming over, accepting his mistake and apologising for it, but that's all we have to show for our cup campagin this year - an apology.
JK has a hell of a lot of work to do if our season is going to be brought back on track. Leeds are starting to perform to their usual standards and if we don't improve quickly I fear that Wakey fans going to Murrayfield will see us concede a cricket score.
If players are going to be brought in they need to be brought in very damn quickly, if not the players should be told that they are the one's who need to work out who's going to bring some creativity on to the pitch for the rest of the season. If they can't do that this year, there'll be little point bringing creativity in next year because we'll have already sealed our fate in the applications for a 2012 franchise.

Chappie, you're right, but the two go hand in hand.
Without the new Stadium we will not get a franchise is 2012 and there is not a cat in hells chance of getting back even if we manage to get a new Stadium later on for the 2015 franchise round. If we do not get a planning consent in time to secure building and a franchise for 2012 then the club is finished. We have sold the ground and received part of the proceeds so we will either have to pay the developer back, but with what, or more likely fold. It cannot be stressed enough how important the Stadium is to our future.
That said, I agree with you about what's on the field. We are in the entertainment business, if we don't entertain then people stop coming as I fear they are already doing. We have to sort out the product on the field or we may be watching a team in a nice new but empty Stadium - but not for long.
I know I'm stating the obvious but at the moment I'm a bit brassed off. I've not been today, which is not like me, but I just could not face a 3 hour drive down to watch my team get beat (I could have been wrong and boy would I have been happy) and then 3 hours back up the M1 feeling sorry for myself (and all the other fans).
I've never felt so depressed and even the thought of a holiday to Florida is not cheering me up as they said on the news that the last time this Volcano errupted it lasted 6 months.
I think I'll have a drink or two.

| We were very poor today. There didn't seem to be much creativity from the half backs. The only bright spot I could see today was Korki. He ran it in hard and seemed to make yards every time.
I really don't know where our season is going (perhaps it's already gone). We don't seem to have any creative spark. As of now I don't feel like going to the KC next Friday, but ask me again next Thursday

We may or may not have a club without it, and I'm not on here to undermine anyone, but we also have a club to watch until that happens, and we all know our gates could be improved.
A marquee signing (or at least a decent sized tent!!) could lift gates, morale and our season!!!!

| We need a stadium but no good if team on field not performing, we need more creativity, better defence, less errors, also, keep John Kear, if he goes who will we appoint ?, maybe its time to drop a couple of players and put a bit more youth in there, some people say too early to blood them etc, Leeds, Wigan and Saints did it and it worked.

Of course I stopped shouting when he was 2 feet away from me - there was no need to shout for him to hear me............or are you Dom Jolly and speak at a stupid volume regardless of how near to you the other person is?????
I'm not going to get into the who said what - I know what I said & what JD said in response.....what you could be bothered to hear I couldn't care less about.
I am not embarrassed about showing my disapointment this way or do you suggest that we accept abject performances like today's with a pat on the back and a simple "well played lads but hard luck". As fans we go to a lot of effort to support the team and the least we deserve is to see 80 minutes of continued effort in return. The first half performance was disgraceful and we didn't get a single point out of the 10 minutes we had an extra man.
We desparately missed Morrison and given that we really on have Latu to come back into the team next week I can't see us winning a game for some time. Gordon Brown probably has a greater chance of re-election than Wakefield have of making the play-offs at the moment - of those I don't know which worries me more.

Murph, King & Korki were the few bright notes of the performance. With the exception of Davey who got a bad knock and is probably out for a few weeks now & Gledhill (who is surpassing all our expectations given his lack of experience), all the players in the team today are experienced players and should be able to play much better than that. Even though Cooke & BJ are looking better together, there was no real sign of creativity anywhere on the pitch.
We may have only lost by one try (a big factor in my frustrations with JD) but we were very lucky with the way that Kirmond's try came about and it certainly wasn't created by our team - more that we benefited from a Quins error.
Quins aren't a great side and they didn't play any better than when we played them at the start of the season. The fact that we have gone so far back in our performance levels cannot be ignored and needs to be addressed. You may want to keep your rose tinted glasses on if you want, but as JK has said this week our performances this year are of utmost importance given the franchise applications are considered during next season.
We've gone to so much effort as a club to get a new stadium sorted to satisfy that side of the application, but we now have a very real danger of seeing the on-pitch performances being the deciding factor and right now the performances are attrocious.

I completely agree with you, but we also have to accept that all these kind of players will already be contracted to other clubs. The best we can hope for is some kind of fall-out between a player of this calibre and his club that gives us the chance to step in. Otherwise, it's simply not going to happen. The Charlie Leaeno's of this world are that's left to choose from, and that's not something people can blame the club/board for. They've tried to put an attractive team together, but have ultimately been undone by the players themselves. As I've said before, I have a lot of sympathy for those running the club when this kind of thing happens. All that effort for nothing. I'm sure they're gutted too.

Bit like Brough was and Tronc.
But it doesnt seem to stop over clubs getting the players they want.
Thats where i disagree.
The club were well aware of the situation with Brough well before the season started and had no contingency plan. The club sold Brough, our most creative ,inventive and valuable player --- nobody forced them to.And the fact they choose to conduct this transaction in the early stages of the season was beyond a joke.
TBH ,i get bored of people constantly defending the club/board and claiming were the victims and its never the boards fault.
Brough,Tronc,Southernwood, all departed - The club wont accept any blame.
Brough transfer deal -- Cracking deal that was - some amount of money and a player recovering from injury on loan,oh and Korki as well. But the club would have us believe it was a cracking deal!!!!!
Our club have been blaming others for years and never accept responsibility when they cock up.Even going back to the dark days of the CVA,the board tried to blame it all on Pearman for getting us into a financial mess --- had the club never heard of due diligence.
The truth is,the club have money to spend, but as always will hide behind the reasoning that their is no one "available" of the right quality to sign, and the money will just disappear down the plug hole, pretty much like our season will do.

| I can't stand the burden of guilt any longer.
It's all my fault...... well, nearly.
Newton was his own decision and his alone.
Tronc was clearly the fault of Sandal Cat.
but everything else...
After the Leeds game I used a pic of Brough as my desktop background, it also helped scare the kids away from my laptop. Result = he leaves
Changed the background to pics of the stadium plans. Result = sudden rush of objections.
After 5 years of trying, finally got an internet connection (of sorts) in the house so that I can follow live scores and attempt to listen to the radio. Result = not won a game since.
Booked a ticket for Wembley and a flight to the UK in time for the semis. Result = knocked out in the first round.
At least there'll be only one home game to endure after I get back on 27th July
I've already doused myself in petrol and await my inevitable fate
In all seriousness though. I know it looks bleak at the moment, and it's fans' job to overreact to results, but we really only need 7 wins out of 16 to get in the top 8. We may have a lean month or so with the injuries and awaiting a possible additional prop, but I still think that's achievable and as a minimal target, finishing above cassss would do me now
