Just spoke to Billy,he's been to hospital this morning,got one of the country's best surgeons operating on his eye on tuesday in the hope that the eye can be saved,if not the eye will be taken out and replaced with a "marble",apparently this is to make sure the other eye is not affected.He expects to be in three or four days.
He seems perky enough bless him.

Got a text from him yesterday evening,had an op on tuesday,has to go back to Jimmys next wednesday and needs 2 or 3 more op's before they know for sure either way,lose an eye or not.

Just a reminder to everyone, auction night raffles etc in aid of Billy this Friday evening at the Comrades Club Normanton from 7pm onwards. Hope a few of you can make it.

Does anyone know how much was raised and if many people went? Couldn't go myself but hope it was a success.

The evening was a great success and very well attended. Quite a few ex players came along to support the event, namely, JT, Jason Timmins, Gary Spencer, Nigel Wright, Phil Eden and Richard Slater who helped organise the evening. (Sorry if I missed anyone off).

Unfortunately we can't announce how much was raised as at another fund raising do some busy body reported the takings to the DSS who decided to take the money in to account when calculating what benefits they were entitled to.

Many thanks to all who helped make the evening and a big thanks to Mr Mojo Risin and Alex of Doom on here for their donations, both items went down very well.

The next event will be at Normanton Rugby Club on 14 November where we will be holding a race night. All are welcome.

Up n down definitely lost sight in his eye will find out in jan whether he will lose eye or not but at moment its looking good .Hopefully make a good amount for him next week to help him through xmas period .As well as coaching second team he s back helping with his old team now the under 15 s so keeping him busy whilst he cannot work .
