| I'll throw a name in the hat who I dont think has been mentioned yet. Stu Howarth? Solid defender, great in collision, gets through a hell out of work and seems to be getting better and better ball in hand.

| You have all mentioned the great players, but how about Johnson and Amor, quality players that stand up well. Thought we would need Korki today, but these lads have done a great job and not just today.
The whole team are running on heart and spirit, which is a great feeling, who needs high profile players earning top whack, when the young lads play for the pride.
Well done to the whole team.

Always rated Blaymire. I'm surprised why you constantly feel the need to knock him, mopsey.

| Classy footwork by Green did make Blaymire look a bit of a fool on that one occasion. Other than that he was solid as a rock under every high ball that KR tried. They ended up repeatedly running it on the last tackle!
All the pack did solid jobs for their stints. Murphy was faultless throughout.
Rinaldi is our talisman at the moment but I'd give the M.o.t.M award to Luke George.

| Rinaldi and Morrison are machines and also top bloody blokes to boot!
Thought George and Blaymire had great games today. Blaymire's hit on Cockayne was a beauty, especially as it was a 4 on 1 scenario.

Only a complete 'moron' would still be bagging Blaymire and Kear at the moment. Either have the balls to admit you are/were wrong or have the sense to keep quiet.
Thought Blaymire was excellent today however MOTM has to go to the Frenchman just for attempting to go for the quick tap from the penalty with 30 seconds to go, total insanity from the bearded one!

| Agreed, although moron probably isn't strong enough. Welcome back mopsey, I have missed you. Any more little gems of wisdom for us? I would love to know the story behind why you hate Kear so much? Did he used to babysit you, pin you down and fart in your face?

He doesn't, he can't admit he was wrong so he's trying to turn it into an OTT wind up - bit sad really.

| Hats off to Blaymire, he was excellent defensively yesterday and his smash on Cockayne was one of the highlights of the day. Really do wish though when we are attacking he'd push through and support the ball carrier more like a fullback should. He'd get more than his fair share of tries as well if he did.

Not his game though. Blaymire is a defensive FB. He knows he hasn't got the pace so why bother other than in the oppositions 25 where he can be dangerous. It's better to concentrate on his positives. He positions himself well, takes the ball with confidence and his biggest strength is that he goes to ground with the ball straight away. It's one of the great myth of RL that F/Bs' who run the ball up quick are the bees knees. It looks exciting but usually they get smashed back 20 yards on impact ending up where Blaymire is. They risk losing the ball on impact and double that risk by struggling in the tackle. In the meantime the opposition have formed their defensive line, where as Blaymire has played the ball long since. If you want an example of that look at the lad at Cas or Cockayne yesterday - no thanks (as both those teams lost).
Yes it would be nice if Matty had the speed to chime into the line more often or occasionally break the line - but he can't. If he could he's be one of the best F/B's in the world and he'd be playing for Saints or Warrington. Blaymire gives us solidity without thrills and that's enough for me for now. Sure there is room to improve and as the team improves I suspect Matty will step up a bit more but small steps for now.

| Didn't make the game as I thought my kitten was deeing but Tezza Crook on Beeb Leeds was really bigging Murphy up saying he should be close to international honours etc.
I think he kept calling him Phil Murphy too in commentary or summat similar.

I'm not a Blaymire fan at all, but at the game I actually thought he had a good match. However, after watching the highlights, his defence looks suspect on all three of their second half tries. Took some good high balls though.

Without wishing to put Blaymire down (cos he had his best game of the season so far, and was definately up there for m.o.t.m.), from where I was standing (about 20 yards away), it looked to me as though Cockend just didn't see him coming, and just ran straight into him !!! Poor play from him rather than anything exceptional from Matty B...

And yet on another thread, you're confident enough to say that Blaymire tripped Cockayne, and to call him a 'comedy defender?'
I'd stick to brushing your big pussy if I were you.

| From where i was stood, it looked like a shoulder charge, which i had been earlier saying should be outlawed as a dangerous tackle. the irony wasn't lost on my mates as i jumped up in the air shouting "go on matty give him it!!!!"
His body position looked a bit strange and it could very easily not have come off and he would have no doubt looked a muppet, but it did, and we won, so.............
