| Well if that is the case TRB it truly saddens me.
I can only think that as someone who has built up his business AG is so used to working and making decisions on his own rather than through consultation with others.
I may ,of course,be totally wrong here.
Lets hope sense prevails and fans who have a lot to offer can be brought on board.

| The thing is running a business has little baring on running a RL business.
I can see why he is reliant on others as you need some understanding of the game and SL as a whole to begin to understand how to run a SL franchise/club.
I can see how some private sector skills can be introduced but if you don't understand the SL world you might just as well be ing in the wind.
If you were to try and explain SL to a visitor from the planet zog they would quickly hop/crawl or slither back aboard their space craft and bog off looking for a world with intelligence.

If your intention on here is to engage in genuine dialogue with the supporters then perhaps you can ask why the club treat the ST with such disdain. Our Chairman has no dialogue with us and the presiding attitude is one of being a nuisance and an inconvenience!
I am also sick of thus regime blaming the previous regime for the problems they have, including all the CCJ's. They are gone, but while they were here they did no more than you - ie, they trued their best, and arguably did better for longer!
We, the supporters, have already proved that we are a power base. We led the campaign for NM and without us and our petition we would not have PP - it certainly has little to do with the current regime who refused to accept it as a legitimate opportunity when they took over - because they wouldn't either trust or believe it!
In essence, what I am saying, is for the club to deliver on its promise to be honest with and have dialogue with the supporters - either that or finally ditch the slogan together we are stronger, because at the moment that is not being delivered!
There is a way forward, but its not the one we are on right now!'"
Without detracting from your points, all of which are valid - I think the problem is far deeper.
NM is the future but our problems remain in the here and now.
I can understand the club being a bit irked with the fans at present, as much criticism is coming their way.
What they need to realise is that's how we feel x 10, as we are not in the loop and fairly helpless.
The club needs to back the fans and we will back them, otherwise as you say the slogan is not only worthless but a millstone around the clubs neck.
A truce? A frank exchange of views? A line in t he sand and a new way forward?

That's it, in a nutshell.
I just feel that inclusion or 'togetherness' would benefit the club far more than them just telling us that we're together.
I live in hope!

I'll give you a clue why i left the ST when i did, it became obvious to me that having dialogue and being open and honest with the trust and the fans was never on the agenda for the club.
Shame really after you guys put in all those hours of hard work.
Together we are stronger is a great slogan.

| You certainly get the impression the club would be happier if the trust ceased to be which is a shame. It seems to be heading in a them & us direction at present and that is very worrying.

If that is true, then they may well get their wish soon. Try as we might, it is hard for the Trust to see a sense of purpose at the moment.
It was never intended to be just a Supporters Club but without any teeth that is all it will become and the majority of the current ST board will not carry on if that happens.

They can bloody have him and enjoy the tedious no look pass, the last tackle kicks to knowhere or the opposition in a nice try scoring position, the speculators that leave your heart in your mouth o end up being intercepted, the hospital passes that leave your players with half their teeth out and his aversion to ever running at the opposition lin with any intent to break it. | If the club wanted a vibrant ST, they'd have helped you increase membership by now; I floated the idea of them packaging Trust membership with season tickets when I was on the board and I've said similar things on here since - I've yet to see them do anything meaningful to help.
It strikes me that the aims of the Trust are not compatible with the BoD's strategy, so they'd probably be unmoved if it folded.

well you have quoted at least five different ways he is trying to score, now tell me what the rest of the backs, collis excepted are doing????
and then add the number of tries to be created from stand off, or loose forward, which is 0.00000
i remember now why i got off here!!!

| It's ridiculous to heap the blame on Tim Smith - every side knows we only have one creative player, so they're pressuring him out of the game; think back to what he was doing in the latter half of last season with a reliable partner to play off - it was some of the silkiest hb play we've seen at WTW in many a year.
He's looking jaded, largely because he's probably sick of trying to create things whilst knowing that his runners will drop the ball or not even be there at all, or of being caught in possession and getting smashed to bits.

Agreed.
Got pelters for suggesting he was the most overated player ive seen at trin in the last 10 yrs - today did nothing to change my mind. Never ever takes on the line and has the robustness of Dot Cotton when it comes to tackling.

You are correct Bren, we did try to package Membership of the Trust with season tickets but the Club did not want it. Having said that we extended existing members membership for no cost and offered new membership for £5 will very little take up.
The problem is that supporters will not join the Trust because they feel that the Club do not listen to the Trust and the Club do not see the Trust as being representitive of fans with only a membership of around 3% of the fan base so we are going nowhere.
The Club did however listen to us on the Membership scheme and we worked with them on that so the I guess we have achieved something because fans can now pay for membership monthly.
We have been pursuing the acquisition of a share in the Club so that the voice of the fans can at least be heard at Board Level if not acted upon but I sense from this forum that there is little support for this.
At the moment I cannot see a future role for the Supporters Trust and I fear we may be heading towards its demise.

| After yesterday's performance and our recent team efforts I'm beginning to think if the money is right then let him go.
If we can find a decent replacement from half of the proceeds we receive then use the rest to reduce the deficit in the books then that is good.
I'm starting to feel that all the backs (except Collis) need a good sorting out or even clear out. We have a squad which ended last year with 7 wins in a row and now we stare at 7 losses in a row.
A lot of narrow defeats and "what if" performances. I can't see us beating Huddersfield and would put us second favourites to beat Cas at the moment. That leaves us 12th in the table at the end of the season. Not where we want to be when next year is so crucial. We all know Salford will be a stronger team next year.
I feel the squad is going backwards. We are better on paper than we are on the pitch. Thank goodness for Kirmond, Amor and Collis, stars in a mediocre season.
End of season report C-, could do a lot better. Not fulfilling their potential.

Fair point.
For what my opinion is worth get rid of Tim Smith and prepare for relegation to the Championship. We should be building a team around him not thinking of getting shut but its only my opinion, I have no coaching experience, just watch the game.

A voice of reason.
Another half back with ball skills and kicking game to give us other options and to complement Tim required.
One who also has a rather more direct 'take em on' approach.
The opposition knows all too well where the major threat comes from.

| Tim Smith is a quality player but he is not good enough to carry an average team on his own. He needs a proper halfback partner to help split the burden, not converted centres and backrowers. It's no surprise that when our best option there, Paul Sykes, is playing Tim Smith looks twice the player. Right now we are so easy to shut down as everything has to go through him.
Whilst I was never his greatest fan the decision to shed Kyle Wood before the seasons end and leave us with no cover in the halves was lunacy. Even if Sykes had stayed fit he would have given a decent option as interchange hooker as Agar obviously doesn't rate Wildie. All we are doing now is hammering Aiton into the ground, it no coincidence that he isn't as effective with ball in hand in the second half. For a guy with his defensive workrate to play 80 is going to tell on his attacking play.
I'd go as far as saying if Wood would have still been here we'd have sneaked a couple of those narrow losses as wins and the top 8 would still have been a chance at this point. Even if we didn't get there at least the season wouldn't be petering out with nothing to play for.

| Tim Smith is the only creative player we have apart from a few flashes from Lee Smith.
He IS our attacking force but that means the poor bloke can't have a bad game!
For heavens sake don't start saying we should get rid of him - I agree with others we should be building around him not taking the nucleus of our team away!

| Aiton is a quality player and offers utility at Loose and other positions in the pack as we've seen.
I'd get rid of Washbrook, Tautai at LF.
That leaves a bench spot free, an interchange hooker, 2 forwards and a utility player who can cover various positions in pack or maybe the 3/4's.
Right now we play with a bench full of forwards and not very often an interchange hooker.
