| Hull KR's run in is very hard - and Salford need some points back.
It's still in our hands, we just don't want to start a big losing run or confidence can take a big part in things.

Yes we need to get back to winning ways. When we make the 8s we need to be competing and not getting hammered
Confidence and momentum are vital
Getting to the 8s and getting panned every week is not most people's idea of a good time

Conversely, this season, we've developed a knack of winning games we're expected to lose.

| The wins against Cats, Wire, and wigan great but 4 points can be scratched because of the last 2 games. We should have been more than safe and entering the next games and the C C without a care and no pressure.

| I agree - capitulations in two very winnable games that could have a significant bearing on how the season turns out; we were probably saved by the results of the other games in that round.

I agree, but that happens to all teams. Leeds always used to have a mini slump before taking charge. I'm not suggesting we will do that but we will IMHO recover and have a second wind. Whether its enough to win us top 8 or better we will have to wait and see.
Your last point is very valid - results did go our way which suggest we are a lucky team since Chester arrived, lets just hope we are not starting to abuse that.

| It's well and truly in our hands, realistically it's up to us to mess it up.
And that's what scares me a Trinity like capitulation.
Without sounding too negative if we carry this form into the rest of this season and end up in the middle 8's then the Championship clubs will all fancy their chances.
But, if we regain our form and get just two wins then I think we'll make the top eight. Then there's the question of Salford getting points back.
Great fun watching Trinity isn't it?

| If Salford look as though they're going to finish below Wakefield, Lifelong, I'm sure that the RL will ensure they get some points back.

Why would they have deducted points from them in the first place then? I wish people wouldn't come out with conspiracy theories like this all the time, and that applies to fans of any team, as they're just cringe worthy to read.

| Oh the innocence of youth, Jakey. I presume you believe that if Leeds happened to be in fear of taking part in the MPG they'd be allowed to go down. This is the Rugby Football League that we're talking about.

I don't think we did capitulate at Salford, we were undone by circumstances - I admit we didn't help ourselves but for me that was a poop happens game, all teams get those.
HKR wa diabolical it must be said - for me the worst game of the season so far and very reminiscent of last season - whether that is going to be regular and thus terminal is yet to be seen but I'm hoping it isn't.
So far for me just one truly bad performance under Chester - I do fear similar this weekend but hopefully we will start to pick up again after that

| Some people are saying we only need to win 1 or 2 more games to feel safe, for me I'd be more comfortable with 3. Of the fixtures remaining I think the most winnable are Huddersfield, Leeds and Saints.
I'm really starting to feel the pressure again and I hope the team are too. Sunday is a massive game for us. I'm not overly confident as I think Huddersfield are still a tough team to beat and have been losing narrowly this season.
Maybe it is a pride thing for me but I want us to finish before the split with at least an 8 point advantage over Salford, then at least no one can say we qualified for the 8s just because Salford had points deducted.

| To a point Wildshot, I agree with you.
However, at the end of the day, the good doctor has come in with his blank cheque book, and because he is bigger that everyone else, thinks he can get away with it. With this in mind, although the points deduction I believe relates to 2015, who's to say he hasn't exceeded the cap again in 2016, and if it weren't for some of the bigger name players, they may not of won the amount of games they have so far in 2016. Without being disrespectful, prior to him coming, Salford were pretty much bottom 4 every year.
At the end of the day, we are where we are on merit, and we still aren't spending the full cap. Also, worth reminding people, wasn't our salary cap operated at something like 1.2 million in 2014, and not much higher in 2015. We are still in Super League, and now stand a good chance of finishing in the top 8.
All things considered, points deduction or not, who deserves the play off spot?
