It has been confirmed by the match commissioner that Ganson went into the referee's dressing room at half time but wouldn't comment on what was said by Ganson.

Have you listened to the interview? Agar said that Wakey did not show enough determination & resilience when Saints had that sustained period of momentum but he did question what he called soft penalties in the second half & a refereeing performance that was different in the first half to the second. As regards Ganson entering the ref's dressing room at half time, it sounds like that the club does know that he did do that & that now will have to be investigated, but Agar said the dressing down discussion was a rumour but one that he said was on good authority. I think Agar is well within his rights to ask the question of the RFL as to why the ref's controller felt it necessary to enter the dressing room and then what was discussed?

Does this happen regular? Has it ever happened before? What did he go in for? Did Roby as to see Ganson?


Until we know the above it's a non issue.

Saints fan Ganson goes in to give the ref a rollocking when Saints are losing. Ref penalises Wakey much more. Saints win. Someone should say what was said.

If it was routine, would Agar have queried it? You know it's an issue. Imagine you're beating Warrington, Bentham goes in to give Child a rollicking, and thereafter Child penalises you to death. You'd say it was an issue.

It's obviously not a non issue as it doesn't happen on a regular basis infact I think it's unheard of happening at Belle Vue so there was a reason. The question is what was the reason for entering the dressing room, is it appropriate or within his role and what was the result or non result of his intervention.

I am disappointed with the result, Roby did not help in the second half but at 16-4 up after scoring a try at the end of the first half and at the start of the second half.
We should have had enough about us to beat a Saints side that lacked any real halfbacks and a depleted pack.
I feel that with home advantage, we should have beaten an under strength Saints side today.

You asked if Agar could back up his comments well one of them was backed up by the match commissioner stating that Ganson did go into the referees dressing room.Then he wouldn't comment on what was said. So to me there is some substance behind Agars comments.

Still don't know how Lomax wasn't sent to the bin (at the least) for taking Godinet out off the ball and that was in the first half! Had it been in the second Godinet would probably have been sin binned for having the audacity to break through against St Helens!

Was listening to the commentary of two very bias Saints guys on the radio... First they said that ... If one were a neutral... One might question the string of penalties... But they also said that after the first try in the second half Trinity seemed to drop intensity.

All he would have to do was forward a tape of the game - it was a horror show by Roby. Just can not believe some of the calls today - my fav out of dozens of possibles was the clear and blatent knock on by Manu at the play of the ball that was given as interference - it was outrageous Kirmond was stood 4ft away from him when poor Willie just plain dropped the ball. - Roby was so bad it does make you question his integrity.

I can't decide whether you are being ironic, trolling or just plain stupid? It was simply that the Ganson incident was being reported as fact by a well respected RL journo... nothing more.

The Cas incident did happen as well of course... quite a few witnesses to that one I understand.

Anybody's intensity would drop after facing about six consecutive sets!

These things seem clear:
1. Ganson did go into Roby's dressing room.
2. This is not a usual thing, as Agar commented on it and questioned it.
3. Roby caned Wakey in the second half.

It just isn't appropriate. Roby is a human being and is bound to want to please the guy who is his boss. So he refs the second half to please his boss. It is human nature, plain and simple. Ganson being from St Helens just heightens the stink, but regardless, you end up with a skewed refereeing performance.

Was you in the refs changing room?

If you lot want to come up with conspiracy theories then ok but I find it laughable tbh as it's all hearsay.

I'm confused Pete are you now saying Ganson went into the changing room? I thought it was all hearsay?
