its a shame if Championship not on tv next year because I have enjoyed watching it more than Superleague. The two Superleague games on sky this weekend have been terrible, anyone who thinks we are catching up with the Aussies is in cloud cuckoo land , the State of Origin games were light years away from what we have witnessed this weekend. Its time to bring back P & R it works in soccer and doing away with it has not improved our game. Time for the RFL to have representative of the fans on board who actually understands what its like to be a fan , working 9-5 and trying to get to games after work, paying to get in through turnstyles and enjoying the banter STANDING on the terraces in our homely stadia.

your right in your statement trying to play catch up Championship league is catching up and has become entertaining at that level

one of the problems that the game had with p and r was the fact that when a team were relegated they basically had to release most of their players to get under the lower salary cap, i know a lot of this came about when hudds went down and kept the same players and went undefeated.
as a trinity fan if you were to come bottom and get relegated in the old fashion you would still be in a better position after losing your players than you will be if the rfl just dump you in the championship for at least 3 years with no promotion back to the top flight guranteed.

expansion is good for the game if it is done correctly, look at the nrl who are going to expand in a couple of years and teams have been laying the foundations in perth, adelaide and brisbane for new teams, it has taken 4-5 years of hard graft and development of the game to get to this point whereas the rfl just say..... lets play in wales and start from scratch, the game could look very silly over the winter if wakey are kicked out for crusaders who then in turn go bust/ cease to exist..

I have been given the impression that the NRL sides don't want to expand beyond 16 teams.

Rumour is premier sports a great chanel for the NRL at the moment with really low cots, I really do hope they take it on I would love to have a reason to leave sky.

Yes and since!! We played the first few seasons with no Sky money and we have played every season in SL with a lower salary spend than almost every other club and yet despite that we have never finished bottom of SuperLeague
We deserve a place because in the 13 seasons we have been in we have never been the worst team.

and my point is 'Yes you do'!! Then, like Fev, you should be given the opportunity to compete v Fev et al for the opportuniy to play back in SL!!

The thing is when its (officially) decided the club will not be bottom. Things are low now, it would be even worse after the announcement meaning the chance of winning another match will slide from slim to zero so theres a big chance of Trinity finishing bottom.

No??? Fev are again top of the league. They may or may not win the GF! But even if I was the holder of last weeks winning ticket - the RFL wouldn't let Fev in! The (RFL) direction is to take the game elsewhere! Beyond west yorks!
When Trinity are playing in a league where all clubs are 'excluded' from SL, regardless of their successes, you will feel similar matey!! Trust me, this long held bitterness towards SL and all it stands for is heading your way anytime soon!!
Becuase the hope of a return is removed, the apathy amongst the fans spreads like a cancer until you look round at an empty stadium where you can recognise almost everybody and all you are left with are your memories!!
That's what happens to rugby at our level when you 'exclude' teams and remove that hope that perhaps, just perhaps this season your team might just do it!!

Don't be too hard on yourselves, you played fairly decent in some of the games.

The one big difference between expansion over here and in Aus is that Rugby League in Aus is their No1 sport,Having been there it is a Rugby League fans dream come true,Not a sniff of Football in the papers and everyone is Rugby League mad and would go and watch any 2 teams throwing around an oval ball.
We CANNOT simply follow the Aussies with everything they do!!!
For gods sake we cannot even compete with them at all nowadays at International level so that proves we gone backwards and Super League hasn't progressed anywhere near the NRL so why do everything that they do?

As stated elsewhere decision is being made before the season ends (stupidly IMO as it devalues the remainder of the season). At the point the decision is made we are not bottom and actually have more wins than 2 other teams (both of whom have protected status)

If the decision goes against us it will be quite demoralising for the players and fans and we may well end up bottom, but I said at the start of the season that I was confident we would not finish bottom (even with the points deduction) and I stand by that statement. Come back in September and we'll see who is right!!
