| Batch outstanding but without doubt the key play of the day was the Murphy tackle. Fantastic pace and desire to track back and not only complete the tackle but also force the error.
Thought a few of the lads who needed to improve have over the last 2 weeks. Good, Ashurst, Batch and Tanginoa in particular have picked it up.
Huge result especially with Cas doing us a favour.
Win at Magic weekend I think we should be safe.

| I’m only disappointed by the scoreline. We were imho better than the six point suggests. We outplayed them most of the game.

I don't agree. They had periods where they cut us up out wide. It was only making some shocking final passes that kept them out.
We had to tough it out rather than outplayed them.
I might change my mind of course when I watch on Trinity TV as you see different things from different positions.

| A real arm wrestle of a game that, a solid 15/20 minutes of the second half was just back and forth back and forth. Even after their break away try I knew we would get at least a couple more chances on their line as they were really nervy and looked shot on confidence. A very resilient performance. Batch was left flat footed when Widdop rounded him but he more than made up for it, him and Tanginoa hitting decent lines were devastating. I thought a number of players had their best games for us including Whitbread, Hood and Battye who were all outstanding today.

Our next match is Salford away, who are also on 10 points, whilst Leeds are away at St's and Wire host Hull, so if those results go our way then we could go up to 8th

Didn’t think you would, but I’m right.
Best attacking RL we’ve played in the league this year imo.

Imagine that compared to how we were say 2/3 weeks ago. Outstanding up turn by the club. On the back of these performances now, it would be nice to confirm a signing or two for next season seeing as we now have a 6 point buffer, just to show positive direction for next season. Poching confirmed we are down the road with a few players

You would hope any issues getting players to commit to is easing with every win.
Attracting players for next year is crucial and getting business done early is so important for our prospects in ‘23.
Turn Salford over next week and I would say we are there or there abouts.
Toulouse will have been targeting the Cas game as one they can win. Losing that game and us picking up the win will not be good for their moral and hopefully causes a few heads to drop.

Yes 100%, I thought Toulouse would get the job done but credit to Cas. I can imagine things being very busy behind the scenes regarding retention and signings etc. I just hope we’re not too late and miss out on solid recruits, but I guess time will tell. Saying that, Thomas Mikaele made Eddie Battye look like Payne Haas today, if that’s what’s dropping out of the NRL currently then all teams will be struggling for quality not just us!

Tbh I wasn’t that bothered about Batch either way as his style of S/R are fairly common. However his sudden mastery of centre play puts a whole new spin on it. For me he’s now a more valuable player than he was three weeks ago.

| Thought Whitbread was our top performer in that 1st half. Been critical of Battye recently but he came on a looked like the Battye of the loan period.

He also has another benefit in that he is a Wakey lad. This team has always been good when we have had a fair few local lads playing. Its good if you can build a team around a core of local players.

| Whitbread is turning into one of the cornerstones of the team. Think he could be a great player for us. Proper solid. Doesn't do fancy stuff but just tonnes of hard work in attack and defence.

For sure.
He's probably had his best 3 games for Trin over the last 3 fixtures and playing out of position, exceptional

| I would hope that finally puts the Tanginoa to prop to bed once and for all except in an emergency.
For the second week running he was in SR and running destructively out wide. I’m very glad the coaches have finally come round to what the majority of fans have been calling for.
Running at the halfbacks and backs Tanginoa is just a destructive beast and that was a peach of a pass to set batch free.
Pitts seems to be pretty good in the middle at 13 too.
Murphy made a cracker of a tackle. Hall is making some exceptional runs and yardage. Hard to believe that edge is 20 years old and are on their debut season.
As a few have said Whitbread has a big engine and never shirks any of the tough stuff.
Fifita has convinced me he’s got another year in the tank too.
Good performance where we touched it out today. A real team performance. Keep up the good work.

| Pity that there's no game next week. I hope we don't lose the hiatus that we seemed to have gained. Five tries today, but I just wish we could gain more confidence and nous in the opponents ten metres area.

I hear whispers Batch has become a bit disillusioned with Trinity especially seeing the environment his bother is in and how his career has blossomed.
I hope I’m wrong as the last few weeks he seems to have rediscovered his mojo and we can keep him but I think it would be very tough to retain him if others as they appear to have done came in for him.
The line he ran for his try was sublime. He actually side stepped the defender before he caught the ball not seen many players do that since the days of Steve Renouf.

| A great performance but we make it hard work having to come from behind. We need a little composure and a bit of craft in the last 20 some of the attacks today left a lot to be desired but take nothing away the chase by Murphy was a game changer and gave us the lift we needed. Some top performers today.
