I think game has gone soft in many areas but hits to the head should be clamped down on. Lads have parents, their own families and a future after rugby. Look at Stevie Ward! I agree it was a red card wrencat.

What's most disappointing is that the VR had a look at the challenge and didn't think this.
Ultimately Trinity lose out because of spineless officials.

Surely the shoulder is often worse than a swinging arm because of the body weight behind it?

at first I didn't see it as a red, yellow yes but on reflection this is another game where one of our key players has been taken out of the game not to return and could of influenced the final result.

this needs addressing in front of the governing body

In the NRL you are now able to bring an 18th man in to the playing squad if a player can't continue due to foul play, so we would have been able to bring on a fresh man

Don't think the referee bottled it at all, he would have been watching the game and that's why he didn't blow for a foul, it was the video ref what called it on a replay, surely it's his responsibility to have sent him off, nothing to link the 2 games together, but last week he showed just how inept he is with his decision making then and has continued to do so with another poor decision.

If not the ref, then, certainly the VR.

There's certainly an argument for that in the current climate. I'd also say the video ref should be able to intervene at any time to send a message to the referee with hits to the head. Might make a few bend their backs a bit more!

The touch judge must have been looking at his shoe laces or something at the time.

Perhaps we should adopt a similar use of the VR as Union, where the ref will talk to the TMO and they then decide between them, which is the best course of action.
I still cant get over just how /why it wasn't a sending off.
