| I think as a sport we have to take a long look at what we are doing wrong in relation to Covid 19.
Clearly there is an issue that needs investigating.
Since the return to competitive play I can’t think of any other sport that has been affected so much.
Even rugby union where the players are in closer contacts often with many more players in those contacts haven’t had similar issues.
It may just be a coincidence I guess but I’d hope as a sport we are reviewing all protocols, as clubs and individuals to ensure the game or it’s players are not putting themselves at risk in non game situations.

100 percent agree with this, the reality is an awful lot of people have continued working throughout COVID. Many in low paid jobs without which society cannot function.
The joke here is the people who Allegedly can work more effectively from home - like government officials, civil servants and teachers. Wages and pensions unaffected whilst most of the rest of us are struggling.
I wish the players and family well, but the risk to the players is actually more or less none existent. I get that some members of their families may be at risk and it can lead to spreading but realistically what’s the alternative to trying to get the games on ?

| How can the game go ahead when we haven't been able to train. We already have 3 players unable to play due to contact with covid carriers plus loads of injuries. The game is already an unfair contest and why are we always playing at the other teams ground ?

Surely this boils down to money, or the lack of it in our case. Look at Cricket, all players in bubbles and what happened to Jofra when he broke the rules? Contrast this to what players in our sport are 'allowed' to do.
Ultimately whilst nobody wants anybody and their family to be ill, these are young, fit men at their pysical peak and as such ar probably the lowest of what is already a very low risk. As has been mentioned further up the thread, there is little difference to the millions of people who have no option other than to work in an effort to keep their companies affloat, their industry operating, their families fed and the world turning.

| I presume when those that have returned to work they do it with social distancing requirements or PPE. These are not options available on a rugby field.
I agree they are fit and not in an high risk bracket but this does not guarantee they will not suffer long term effects from the virus. I don’t know what type of test they use but I believe at StHelens a member of the none playing staff tested positive forcing others to go into quarantine. They then did a retest only to find out it was negative so they had to do it again to see if it was the first or second test which had produced the wrong result. This third test I presume was the more accurate nasal swab but these can take several days. The outcome was that the first test was incorrect but several had been in quarantine for several days including the coach.

| If it weren’t for Sky pulling the strings, I’d imagine that the season would be cancelled. Unfortunately they want their money’s worth, which is understandable, even if it causes the fixture list to get congested.
Ultimately, it’s a “damned if they do, damned if they don’t” situation for the clubs. So stop using it as a stick to beat the club with!

I suggested the question to you because of your above post, if your not up to answering the question or you just put that statement out to insult bojo then maybe I will address it to Sky and super league, if they ever post on here.

| There will still be COVID in Feb 2021. Therefore if people want this season cancelling then next should be cancelled too shouldn't it? Furlough is being wound down and ends in October at 60%. Players welfare comes first naturally. However common sense managing risk has to prevail. The players have more chance of dying driving to work than that of COVID. Even the highest risk of people in society still have far more chance of surviving than dying from catching COVID.
There are far more people with COVID yet hardly anyone is now dying of it currently. Is it 2/3 a day? COVID for quite some time has killied far more people indirectly through the lack of Cancer screening and treatment.
At some point life has to get back to normal. That's reality. If the players don't want to play for any club then I'd knock on the Chairman's door and request a compromise agreement and get another job. That's not me being ars*y as I've had friends and family scared to death of this disease.
Another reality is they who pays the Piper calls the tune. That's SKY TV. Track and Trace isn't perfect, the screening isn't, RFL, our club or the players aren't. But they're trying to manage it the best they can. Games will be called off, they'll be rearranged games and games at short notice. Accepting this isn't perfect but the best of a terrible situation

You regret the decision? Where did your opinion come into the equation? Have you any input into Warrington's decision to play the forthcoming fixture v Hull despite having to stand 6 players down following our game?

| Yes I do because I thought it was a risk and unnecessary because no other team at that time had done so. I bet Warrington had wished the game was called off. The result albeit not surprising still feeds into the belief that we are a team in decline. We could have waited and got the isolating players back and maybe some carrying injuries. What we now face are matches where the results can be decided based on if a club is quarantining players and the numbers involved, rather than a level playing field. I understand that injuries also play a part but adding quarantining players will weaken a team further.
The last time I checked this was a forum for debate not blind obedience like you appear to follow.

| On Twitter, Aaron Bower summarises the current situation:
"Priorities for rugby league in 2020:
1. Finishing the season however possible and fulfilling broadcast obligations.
2. Everything else.
I get fans want their team to win, but if we want to have a sport to watch next year, we have to finish this season by any means possible."

Its not a level playing field anyway.
Have you then not heard of the salary cap and the clubs ability of spending a certain % of it...????

I agree its wrong but Hull played Salford at the weekend without having had a single training session together for the previous 14 days. Its a farce, but a necessary farce.
