| I believe the old regime were definitely not perfect but they improved the ground and gave the supporters more positively than we have had for many years. I would reiterate that the money he put in he does not want it back so I guess he has put a lot more in than you give him credit for.
My criticism of MC is not personal but I do feel he emphasised the negatives too much when dealing with the less committed of supporters who we need to buy season tickets to move forward.

| Remember years and years ago watching a series of programmes where Gerry Robinson went around failing buisnesses to offer advice and find ways how to try to turn their fortunes around.......was way before all the other programmes of that type that have followed since....
The biggest thing he focussed on in nearly every episode was NEPOTISM.....and the way it destroyed businesses....nearly every time he tackled the issue it didn't go down well.....but in the end made a huge difference....
All through my working life, and especially with that in mind from watching those programmes, I've never once seen a family member who got a job through family, do better than someone who was well qualified and applied for the job and got it through merit......it's easy to become blinkered to poor decisions if it's one of your family or friends who has made that decision.....
Despite that though, the Dolls have to be a must to stay.....like them or not, they are of big interest to quite a number of people and i'd say with the interest of young girls wanting to join etc (like my own daughter did once) they are a big asset to the club in respect of getting more fans through the gates etc....

| Things have changed a lot since the inception of cheerleaders in RL.I remember when RL clubs first started having cheerleaders ,coming back from a game at Odsal on the West Riding bus ,Wakefield's two cheerleaders were on the top deck ,making their own way back home.

| Quote ="RebelRebel"IIRC, the figure quoted was around 400 quid per game. I know it seems quite a bit for a cash-strapped club, but if you assume the girls actually get paid something to perform, plus insurance costs, etc., what's left over, if anything, will hardly be enough to line that retirement nest.
In fact, by carrying the name of the club and presenting a positive image of it on other engagements beyond match days, they probably offer pretty good value. '"
(I know you don't know the answer, I'm just asking questions)
I know they carried our name, but did they pay anything to the club to use that. One could say that they got as much of a rub by being associated with a "professional" sports club than we did for their 'exploits' outside Belle Vue. In addition, did their work outside the club add anything in real terms (sponsors, bums on seats) when trading on our name.

Surely the more money he put in the more he would want it back? You use the words guess which means you dont know (neither do I btw). cant understand why you defend the old regime when its obvious they got more wrong than right. And then have an issue with carter for telling the truth. lets face it glover and elston are the main reason we are in the position we are in. They are the reason carter is in the position he is in finance wise. They are the reason he has had to be honest because people wont fall for the crap glover came out with again. So give they guy a break! And btw anybody can spend money they havent got on the stadium and players, does that make you good at your job? In your book, probably

Don't know why I've thought if this now, but may as well ask.'"
The Dolls as a company are "owned" by Sarah Elstone and have been for some time. Hence the reason that the girls will be the dancers at the World Cup now Sarah works for the RFL.

| OK replace guess with I am certain that it was confirmed that Glover loaned a least £500,000 to the club. It was also stated that he had agreed not to request payment of the loan. I hope this clarifies the situation for you but if I am wrong I am sure someone will correct me.
For the last time our total debt due is less than £400,000 and we have no overdraft at the bank or any outstanding CCJ's as confirmed by MC.
I have great respect for him taking it on however, I did have a problem with how the news delivered was all negative. He was speaking to those who are still to renew their season tickets and human nature does not respond too well to the only bit of positive news that the club will start 2014 but could be just cannon fodder for the rest of Super League. I believe he is learning because the last interview did contain some positives.

Yep they use the generic term of the wildcat dolls and dress in non club branded clothing. We gain zero publicity out of this.

He has promised (note not signed up to) not to call it in YET. For two years is the timescale mentioned. But whilst that debt is on the books it prevents the ckub getting any credit and puts off off potential investors. So to say the actual debt is just 400k is extremely shortsighted, the two million overall debt affects the club EVERY day.

Yes it does, it almost seem like he's trying to defend the mess the clubs in and those involved in that.
Maybe there is a reason for that i don't know.

Because he was part of spirit of 1873 not long after it's inception?

| You said it "you don't know" other than MC nobody on here does but that doesn't stop them pontificating about everything Wakefield related.
I still have not heard of any new investment now Elstons gone but its early I expect by Monday they will have come forward after all some on the forum said it would happen.

| If only MC had come in a lot sooner things would not have got to this stage but here we are and its out in the open.As for the dolls all I can say is £400 is one expense we can do with out at the moment. Why not have some local dance troops take it in turns to do it and hand them £50 thats £4550 for the season not a lot but every little and all that.

| I'd say either go without or have a good team. No £50 kids play time.
I think the dolls do a lot more for the club than just rah rah cheer leading.
I think we've got bigger fish than this to worry about.

Nice sidestep.
Back to the Dolls, i suppose like Poptarts suggested we have bigger fish to fry so we'll see.

| So we get rid of the dolls and then we'll all have a moan about lack of funds from the ht draw because we haven't sold any tickets.
Some folk need to shake their heads and realise when they are well off.
The dolls are a definite positive for the club, not everything that has happened over the last 2-3 years has been bad.

Ask for volunteers to sell them, seeing as we're in a mood of getting volunteers to do stuff? That's what other clubs do.

Yeah coz there are literally 100's of people willing to do this for nothing, let alone WTW, get a grip, we are struggling to get volunteer collectors for 1873 so we're not likely to have people smashing down the door for this.
IMHO the Dolls add to match day experience, do valuable work in the community, do a good job of promoting WTW when they are on other assignments and as 2 previous posters have suggested we have bigger fish to fry
