Apparently we have a digger on standby from DIGGERLAND in cas but we have to give them a few hours notice to get the jump leads out and jump the one at xscape so they can bring it over

This is just a theory of mine.

We all know that if we get the green light for NM upgrading BV is frankly a waste of time. Using money better spent on young players.

We all know that if we don't get NM then upgrading BV with temp stands is a waste of money. Money better spent on proper stands if we have to stay at BV.

So however long we can delay the better. If we get NM then hopefully we can ditch most of the plans because no one will care what happens at BV whilst it's being built. If we don't get NM then we will need a re-think regarding BV.

Either way we have until Jan before we have to put it all in place by which time we will know better regarding NM (hopefully).

Also we are not sure on the cost of these 'stands' lets say the one behind the sticks costs £100K per season.
this is around £7.7K per league game. Another 390 full paying adults per match covers the cost. I am not saying it would attract that many to every game but I am sure the fact that BV is open to the elements costs us financially often throughout the season. So I am sure these stands will provide a considerable payback.

The away stand covered and With other stands covered, plus extra bars and facelift here and there should see more away fans willing to make the trip.

The common statements of no atmosphere and gettin wet should be knocked on the head.

All correct, but doesn't do our credibility much good (again) after the big bruhaha when announcing the plans, and the perception of the club as going back, rightly or wrongly, on plans once again.

Getting NM will give us credibility overload TBH. Yes you are right but as we have found ALL and I mean ALL is forgiven in RL if you have a new stadium and the 5000 bogs that come with it. Not even a calculated risk, just calculated.

The truth is that if NM appears we will in the eyes of the game immediately transform into a successful club and the old Wildcats will be consumed to history. All the stigma we now have due to past misdemeanors will just go, that's how it is it will be. Wrong but true IMHO.

My understanding of the developments is thus:
Our franchise application included the redevelopment of Belle Vue and we must complete this if we dont want to come under pressure from the RFL again.

Even if we get the go ahead for Newmarket we will still be at Belle Vue for at least 2 of the 3 seasons covering this current franchise period which makes it imperative that we deliver on our franchise promises.

The structures being errected can stand permanently if required but can also be dismantled and moved which makes their acquisition more cost effective as they will not be scrapped after we've finished with them. I believe that we plan to resite the structures at Newmarket, surrounding the 2nd pitch which sits adjacent to the main stadium.

The cost of purchasing and errection of the new stands at Belle Vue have been met either wholly or partially by a sponsor and will not impact on the player budget.

Planning is required but is not seen by the WMDC planning dept as a big issue and is expected to be passed without delay or drama.

Work is due to be completed within 3 weeks of starting, I've heard conflicting stories about exactly when it's due to start with October and January being mentioned.

As KK said we are waiting on the requirements of SKY TV with regard to how the West terrace will be developed, the club want a full length stand but this might not be possible due to the access required by SKY.

We could let them hire one of the box's, chuck in some butties for Stevo.

The ground improvements should help improve crowds. Lets hope they get on with them AS PROMISED as soon as possible.

Vasty I understand the logic with your scenario but I very much doubt it will come to that as AG would look extremely silly after promising to deliver on the redevelopment of BV and said scenario could in essence cost us our license as things will be reviewed year on year. Our application obviously stated we'd be developing BV and were very hopefull of moving to NM in the near future. The RFL have said any clubs not delivering their promises may well lose their license. I just can't see us taking this risk and think we'll be watching the game in more comfortable surroundings next season.

As I said on the Cas forum.... I will bear my bum in Woolworths (on A Sunday) if either of you have A new Stadium in the next 3 years ..... believe me I would love it if you do but in the current mess the whole of the country is in.......... it wont happen for 1 reason or another.

But that's the whole point. Once your part of the new ground gang nobody cares. He won't look stupid because no one will care, all they will see is shiny new stadium. We could play in a Bear pit so long as the stadium was being built.

The only fly in the ointment is Clans suggestion that it will take 3 years. Personally if we get the green light I reckon more like 2013 if all the funding is in place. However I'm in no position to be sure of that so I accept his point. What I am sure of is that if we are in by the start of 2014 nobody will give a stuff as to what did and didn't get done at BV.

Thats where I think you may be wrong Vasty. I think we'll have to tread very carefully and fulfill all the promises in our application. I think we'd be frowned upon and possibly kicked out if we stall on upgrading BV. I love the place and in all honesty I'd watch Wakey on Heath Common if I had to but the RFL don't look at it like that do they. It's a funny one but I think we need to be squeaky clean and prove we've moved on from the dawn of false promises

Only problem with that is that I am led to believe that we wont know the outcome regarding Newmarket until March.

The cost of upgrading BV will be seen as an acceptable opportunity cost, even if it only has temporary usefulness - it's a passport to SL, which in turn guarantees a million quid or so from Sky, plus all the commercial revenue that comes with playing in the top flight. If that weren't stark enough, the RFL made a point of reminding all the Grade C clubs when licences were announced that they could be revoked at any time if the recipients didn't do what they said they would do.

For those reasons, I don't believe that AG will sanction any funny business in respect of the ground improvements - in my view, he'll do them when he said he would do them in the way he said he would do them.

We will do what we said we would do otherwise we will be removed from SL and rightly so.

for me the three main things we'll be scrutinised over will be
1. Redevloping Belle Vue, not just because we will be in it for two more years (maybe 1 and half) but because it will be the first indication as to whether we are going to waffle or keep our promises.

2. £1.2M salary cap spend, also promised in the franchise doc.

3. The decision over Newmarket, out of our habds I know but crucial none the less.
