Agar has his flaws, so do other coaches, but I feel certain that he's left us a much better team than what he inherited. The culture of the club is much better too, the 'drinking culture' of Tansey, Thackray, Berrigan and King was weeded out by Agar. The player's all seem to really like playing for him (may be too much?) a lot of people speak highly of him.
He has taken us from bottom of the league to guaranteed top 8 finishes. He atleast deserves a chance.'"
i rest my case give the guy a chance

| How about back the club and give the new man a chance.
I do not know who some of you were expecting but realistically I doubt very much with so many coaching seats to be filled at higher profile clubs you would be fighting off a long list of proven big name coaches.
I do not know who is coming, but given what Mr Glover has achieved in his short time at the club, I think he deserves the chance to appoint a coach and not be slammed for it before firstly it has been made official and secondly prior to any games being played under his guidance.

| Millwards record is considerably better than Agars - how can you not see that?
And Morgan has been at least as successful, with a fledgling team that came up from NL and with a much lighter budget.
Agar has had quality players, top to bottom and BIG money. He has failed.
Why the hell should we accept being a project club for him to develop his coaching career? He's had his chance at Hull - what are we? A registered charity for coaches!!!?
I will not accept this "little old Wakefield" crap. You reap what you sow.

You need a new coach at Wigan - you give a him a chance.
The selection of the coach will tell the RL world about our ambition. It needs the right man - not someone who needs "a chance".

Apparently Hull haven't spent the full cap over the last few seasons. Morgan has done well but Agar has taken his team to a CC final which (IMO) means he's been more successful than Morgan (only just)

| Let's be honest about it. I can't recall anyone proclaiming Agar would be a great appointment. I would rather have given Cummins a shot personally - although if he brings in 3/4 good signings and gets us playing attractive, competitive RL I'll happily eat humble pie. Problem is if he doesn't achieve results quickly a lot of fans will get on his back or simply stop coming - could be disasterous.

I think whilst "achievements" are loosely comparable, the positions from which those achivements have been made point to Morgan having the bragging rights.

| Noble is surely a better appointment than Agar?? If we couldnt afford him then that is a different matter but i cant see how anyone could compare the 2 and confidently say that Agar is a better appointment??
I am still not sure its a definate as it would not go along with the recent statement the club has made with regards to junior development and attracting big names. Think i will wait for confirmation from the club before losing it anymore!

Millward's done now't for years, if he's such a great coach how come he's been at Leigh for so long?
Morgan has spent far more than Agar and has not achieved anything, he is also on a lot more £££ than agar, and for what return?
Over the next three years we are finishing in the top eight and reach a cup final i for one will be quite happy.
We are little old Wakefield, and wether you like it or not doesnt change anything, its what we are and more importantly its how we are viewed by others, (such as coach's) in the RL world.
Good god man! you only had to look at some of the joke names who put in for the job to see that.

This is the club's opportunity to end the notion of being a crappy little club. Will they fail to take that chance and in doing so become a self-fulfilling prophecy?
The decision will affect the club deeper than how others see the club too.
If we appoint Agar, we will NOT sell 2500 STs and will therefore have even less cash for strengthening, we will continue to struggle, continue to attract profile players and, perhaps most importantly, will lose the goodwill and positivity of the hardcore of fans we do have.

Apparently, we have historically had less than 300 ST holders.
You think the appointment of Agar will lead to selling 2500?

| The issue Hull fans had with Agar is that they thought we had a divine right to be in the top 2 due to our finances, fan base, stadium etc - though the truth is, he was somewhat limited by the constraints the old board put on him. Now, he isnt good enough to take us to the top of the league, but he is good enough to get you into the play offs

Think you just need to look at the strength of feeling on here to realise that ain't gunna happen. All those hanging off to see who the new coach coach was will not bother. And thus you'll find many of those who have already paid will ask for their money back rather than shell out another £75. We will be back to square one. The fans don't want him, the club aren't listening. Together we are stronger my backside.
The club had the chance to take a huge stap forward and fire the imagination of the watching public. It looks as though they are about to blow that chance. Its hardly surprising the Wakefield public are so apathetic towards the club when we score an own goal like this.

Sadly, I can't help but agree. If he signs a few big name players it might turn things around, but reaching 2500 S/T on the back of signing Agar ain't gonna happen IMO.

What can the club do if Agar is the best choice? It's not as if they can MAKE others apply. IMO WTW have a lot of potential but like someone else said, the outside world see the WTW (ATM) as a fairly unappealing one.

Its already been said that we've interviewed 7 people for the job. They were obviously interested . Even if Millward and Gentle end up elsewhere then one of the others must surely have been a better bet.

if i were andrew glover i'd see to it that daryl powell had the best windows that money can buy by the time he gets in from the boozer this evening, with the promise of a conservatory and a new front door if he signs on the bottom line.
