Good God that 2nd half was awful and probably took a thousand off the gate for next weeks cup tie. 1st time ever that Sneyd was our saviour.

It was quite near us and it seemed to me that Tom copped some knees in his back in the tackle.

It was right in front of us, I didn’t see any foul play just a heavy landing. He looked ok when he went off. I’m guessing he’s bruised his back and he probably seized up at HT. probably spent the second half with the physio.

Hope I’m right and he will be fine.

Tom Johnstone was sublime in that first half, superb.
The second half was horrendous, what a total mess, so many bad decisions and panic rugby.
Awful. Happy with the win though!

Champagne rugby that first half followed by a comedy of errors the second half , and we certainly didn’t have to ask Salford twice to join the party . A win is a win and I’m grateful, but if we play to anywhere near that second half standard against Wigan , the challenge cup dream will be over once again for our club for another year .

Those non-attempts to go for goal in the first half (again) could well have come back to bite our backsides if that second half had lasted five minutes longer.
I have to admit that TJ is the best winger I've seen at Belle Vue since Jan Prinsloo. After that display we've got to make sure that he's still with us next season.

I have to say, although when it worked, it was top class.....we made plenty of mistakes in the first.
We could have had two or three more tries with slightly better execution or luck.
Needs a fix for Wigan. They won't let us off.

Your right PT we'll get punished heavily BUT perhaps it's a blessing in disguise - we know there will have to be a big improvement for Wigan and so do the players now. Should rule out complacency.

I’m with the TJ plaudits … although I have to admit the pass from Miller for his second try was a good metre and a half forward … how the Touch Judge missed that I don’t know!!

Happy to get the win but, the second half was awful.
Thankfully, the first half and Johnstone in particular, was worth the admission.

Yes, a mile forrard! When you think that the two liners were Hicks and Child you’d think they’d pick them up! Like more to focus on Corey Halls pass to TJ that set Millers try up…now that was sublime! If that had been a big club on sky they’d have been wetting themselves over it!

Good win today though…real scruffy 2nd half but got the all important two points that keeps the momentum going…could be good for next week that we had that bad half…prefer it today and get the win than next week! Do think Salford have the makings of a good side though and like us could punch well above their weight and surprise a few!

Though it was a flat pass .Think the Jowitt pass to Hall and Halls pass to Murphy was two of the fastest passes I have seen from a Wakefield team for years

It was a flat pass and nothing like a mile forward. The reason they don't check for forward passes on TV is because it's impossible to judge them. At the match, it looked ok and that's all that matters.

I didn’t think there was an issue with the pass to TJ on the day but I wouldn’t from where I stand, having watched the highlights it does look forward but always challenging to interpret off a camera angle like that. Going off the lines Milky seems to throw it a meter before the line and TJ collect it closer to the line.

I also felt on the day the offload for Pitt’s try went forward. Much better view of that one however touch judge and ref were all well placed and no way of telling off the highlights.

Ultimately though I don’t care if they were or they weren’t. We have had enough go against us over the years to not lose any sleep when they go for us.

We probably deserved the win and the scores in the first half were fantastic.

My main concern is that we struggled to dictate the tempo of the game in the second half and even when we were handed opportunities on a plate to change the tempo of the game and get some momentum we came up with some silly errors to hand it back to Salford.

I’m sure though we will learn from that and probably a timely lesson to learn as Wigan tend to be pretty good and getting on a roll with their smaller middle players so I’m sure that is something that the team will be working on this week.

Every win is a cracking win but the way we played in the first half in particular should continue to build confidence within the playing group and coaches too, who it’s easy to forget are all building careers at Trinity rather than coming in as established senior coaches.

Salford fans crying over forward passes make me laugh. Didn’t say anything about how their club practically cheated our fixtures last season?
