I know what you were referring to. I answered quite clearly for you.
I also refer to your constant posts where it's clear you hate Wakefield Trinity and Michael Carter and
seem desperate for us to fold/go bust/dissapear.
With 'friends' like you ....

| I believe there were enough people in attendance including the press when it was expected we would lose our license. The unexpected demise of the Crusaders stopped our expulsion, I would expect even the relatively small number on here that some will remember if they are such diehards

| Like I thought. We all thought it was probably between us and Crusaders, but to say we're only in SL because of their demise can't be given as fact at all. like you've put it. No surprise that's your slant on things though.

What I recall is that of those applicants who weren't a dead-cert (because it was based on applications, not demotions), we were not the worst. I remember the hissy fit by Halifax, but it became somewhat clear that our application wasn't that bad, and better than those applying from the lower divisions.

| More importantly, why are we discussing Barnsley? As far as I can tell, it's based on a Cas fan from Barnsley saying "why don't you play at Barnsley" and that's it.

Because we have played matches at Oakwell previously Slugger. Decent crowds as well as I recall.

Personally, I don't know anything about the Cas fan but was just going through our options on the stadiums that are closest, seen as MC stated 88M won't even take his calls, plus we've used Barnsley before. Added to that which one would potentially keep us in SL because atm I don't think Dewsbury will do that, not without a load of cash chucking at it anyway. There's talk of franchising coming back in as well, so I was trying to think of what would be the best for Club and keep most of the supporters coming. Tbh it's a complete nightmare, especially if you're the bloke trying to sort this lot out.

I remember the Halifax fans thinking they should have been in. But then the guy who assessed the applications even came out and said there's wasn't anywhere up to scratch.

I wouldn't, I'd be happy with Donny as our temp home. Thought it was a class stadium when we went for the semi final the other year.

Nah, really wouldn't want to share at Wheldon Road.

| I can't believe any Trinity supporter even considering sharing with Cas. Some Wakefield people dare not even step foot in Castleford. Crowds would plummet. People who say that Belle vue and the Belle Vue area are a dump clearly haven't visited Cas lately to see what a dump really looks like.

| I could stomach a ground share with Cas. In fact, I think it's a good idea and could make good economic sense for both clubs. BUT - it would only work if both clubs had equal standing either, joint ownership or parity as anchor tenants. Any arrangement where one club was the tenant at the other's ground would be suicide for the tenant club. Any notion of us playing at a ground owned by Cas should be dismissed out of hand.

They play at Wheldon Road FFS!
There isn't a new ground in Cas to share!
This talk of "let's share with Cas" undermines our position of deserving our own ground, as promised.

A ground share at Glasshoughton is probably where WMDC and Mr Box would like Trinity to play.
It would be the end of Trinity.
Even IF the clock could be turned back and a stadium was built in Normanton, there would inevitably be strong calls for a merger.
Unless everyone wants to forget the past and lose their identity, this would be another non starter

| People are on about ground shares and mergers, but there is one merger nobody talks about much.
Am I alone in being unable to stomach the idea of sharing anything with Cas but have no such qualms about sharing with Fev?
It's not ideal for either club but there are positives. Please believe me this is a last ditch solution but if we end up moving in with them then we may as well merge, for the sake of both clubs.
Featherstone IMHO would not be able to sustain a SL team alone - I think their more realistic fans see that. Likewise as it stands we won't be able to for much longer all be it for different reasons.
So here are the positives
1: Fev have a Stadium that could be upgraded at a cost that would not be beyond reach,.This doesn't mean that the council/developer shouldn't pay their wack but unlike BV it's at least feasible.
2: Fev have a decent fan base, combined with ours it would be quite handy.
3: Wakefield unlike Fev has the genuine potential to sustain a SL team and attract the corporate required.
4: Post office road is actually not that much further from the town centre than NM. Clearly access is not as good however it's still fairly accessible from either the M62 Normanton or Glasshoughton junction.
5: If the council can have 'provision' for parking near BV then I'm damn certain they can for Featherstone.
6: Featherstone has a direct train link to Wakefield Kirkgate I believe which is more than NM will ever have.
7: Fev produce a lot of players, fact.
8: Featherstone high street must be well overdue a re-development. A redeveloped that would be enhanced by an upgraded and far more commercially viable SL stadium.
God knows what you'd call the club but in an attempt to maintain some heritage and identity to each club both could run their own Academy under their original names.
The real downside and there are many is the risk that if success doesn't come it just ends up back as Fev but with a different name and ends up where Fev are now whilst we disappear altogether.
Jeez it's getting desperate.
