If JK is going to sign for Catalans, then we should not let him continue until the end of the season. As part of the deal he should be released with immediate effect to allow a new coach to be installed with time to try and resurrect the season and get his own structures in place and plan ahead for next year

I may have misjudged John Kear but I do think he would have engaged in conversation with JD.
It seems as though no individual from the club had the decency to speak to JD,only his agent.

being interviewed for a job in France.

Great news for Wakey IMO

Whilst I'm happy he's staying, he's hardly chosen to stay. Had the Dragons been prepared to cough up he would be gone. It makes you wonder why they even bothered interviewing him if they weren't prepared to buy out his contract.

To be fair, JK could have thrown his teddy out like players do and gone for nothing.

At least, if the report turns out to be correct, it confirms Kear as an honourable man.

Odd thing from my point of view is, this morning I was told by a very reliable source that Catalans were ready to announce tomorrow.

Perhaps they were set to pay the transfer fee but then decided against it at the 11th hour

That's exactly the way I read it too.

That kind of approach is very unfair, and very unsettling, IMO. There will be those who read it as Wakey prepared to sell their mother-in-law for the right price. I read it as Wakey being fair to JK, but rightly expecting something in return.

Unlike players, JK can't sit and sulk, because the team performance reflects on his own ability to do a job. He's lumbered with us. He may regret it now, but it's in his hands to make Catalans and everyone else who's come knocking regret it, and I hope to hell he does!

He's only in his fifties - plenty of time to enjoy life in France after he's lead Trin to a new stadium and a few tin pots.

best news i have heard all day. if he'd wanted to go he would have gone. you know it! as far as plotting with his agent is concerned , anyone who has an agent talks to them otherwise there is no point having one. if the guy was money mad, why the hell is he at wakefield. one of the poorest clubs in the league
