Agreed - there's not much value in the first 17 putting 60 points on Batley; it would be a much better use of the game to put some of the younger lads centre stage and see how they cope.

There'll be a few 1st team players short of a run-out, and they should play. As for the rest, it depends on how many subs you can use, and which positions need a bit of tweaking.

Yeah maybe a couple, but I wouldn't like to think I was going up to Mount Pleasant to play Batley who although not being a good side, will give us a good knock around, then 5 days later go and play Widnes in what will be their biggest game for years, in front of a decent crowd and the Sky cameras! I would expect Agar will have a good idea of his 17 by now and may want to just see what other options are on the table, and maybe get some match fitness in for the likes of Oli. My mate starts work at Wakey tomorrow he will help whip them into shape

That made me smile , we are a decent championship side playing on the 2nd oldest rugby ground , and we will give you a good game , with a friendly welcome , best and cheapest food bar in the championship , good beer and a friendly atmosphere , so get yourselves over for a good afternoon of rugby league

Cracking little ground and great fans up the hill at Batley, Tea bar is the best in RL.

Worth at least one visit every season and they are decent side.

Good side Batley and a well run club to boot. You have to admire what they have achieved on the budgets which they operate.

Play your strongest side and treat as a cup game.

Not forgetting that a certain Mr Kear will want to show some of the people at Wakey just how good a coach he is.
They certainly wont lack motivation !

Im looking forward to it, was the divide in my family half batley half wakefield.

Ill be the wakefield fan in the batley end ( top of the hill behind the sticks) as im going with my dad and brother in law who are both batley fans.

Great little ground and one more stand would prob compete in superleague, id swap it for belle vue put it that way.

Always a great atmosphere at the locals love there rugby, cant moan at £10 also

Coming from Sandal so probably go along the mad mile at Ossett and I would expect to go past Dewsbury Rams but struggling from there!

Drop down Soot Hill, at the cross roads go straight across and up the hill.
It's on your left you can't miss it.

just to all you wildcat fans the pub across the road has shut down so if you make your way into the ground the club has it own bar area which is behind the glen tomlinson stand called the bulldog bar and the ground will be open at 12. also it has another outlet where the away fans gather at the top end corner. don't forget it's £10 and £5 and £1 for anywhere in the ground.

Get yourself down to the ground will be a great game, one unfortunately i will miss due to batleys ladies being away. Prior commitments gutting!!!

The bulldogs bar is reasonably priced and you will be given a warm welcome. Batley are a improving championship team and watching them are looking sharp. if we dont take a decent team we could end up getting our fingers burnt.

Been to Batley a few times in the last couple of years. GReat ground easy to get to you can park right next to it.
