No they wearnt your right but this was somthing said about the signings been injury prone and not been on pitch that much but as said before we have a small budget and whis knows if there was better value elsewhere.secondley how are we doing ok we lost 4 out of 4 not even led a game at any point and the corresponding fixtures we won 2 of those 4.
I said at start of season id take 11th and thats still my thought hopefully we can then start to build a better squad with again hopefully the ground improvements and new pitch bringing in some much needed revenue cos no matter what i say about the signings i think MC is still doing a great job financially.
On a positive note thought dave looked good as did kay tonight and the whole team looked fitter think 12 months ago that could of been 60.
Feel for young murphy had a shocker but he will learn from it and only become a better player for it

| Worrying performance against a side who ultimately didn't even have to do anythign special to get a 30 point first half lead. Not helped by injuries and forced changes but still that team across the board had a tonne of super league experience and NRL games. It wasn't acceptable first half. The middles were lazy in their work defensively, the halves looked like they coudln't pass, the distribution was so slow and unacceptably the basics like line speed and contact just weren't there. I've got sympathy that the centres weren't actual centres but the problems stemmed from the structures not from the personnel. Basic errors also. Somehow we ended up actually benefitting from the penalty count but the damage was already done. Second half was irrelevant really. Leeds looked like they were in first gear second half. Bit worried off that. Add to this it was a local derby on your home turf and your players never strung a set together where they really turned the screw defensively... They were either knackered (no idea why four games in) or effort levels weren't what they should be.

I will be interested to see Tanginoa tackling statistics because he appeared to be taking on the Leeds middle along with Fifita, with not a lot getting through.'"
Why? We haven't smahsed a team up the middle for as long as I can remember. Even under Agar our strengths was our creativity of the half backs and the distributions to the edges. Same with the first seasons of Chester. We've never "smashed" anyone up the middle for the last 8 seasons.

One of Chester's new signings played 65 minutes still out injured for last 3 matches and no sign of him coming back .The other two played first two now out till who knows when .W P has been dealt a bad hand signing wise .We have a weaker squad at present with the injured players ,than we ended up with at the end of last season and were only 4 games in.Think it's the first time I have been to a match and seen two forwards playing at in a match .

| I was fairly upbeat after our first 3 defeats as I knew the effort was there 100% of the time throughout all 3 games. That first half against Leeds was atrocious regardless of our centres etc. Really important game next week. Guessing Miller won’t be playing.

| Quote ="The Avenger"On recruitment, if he becomes available we should do all we can to bring Andrew Fifita over.
I don’t rate Batty at all and while I understand the constraints of the budget we bought the Batty we saw at London and got something more akin to his Aunty Nora.
Yusuf still needs time, he’s young and doing great but we need to use him sparingly in selected matches or we risk knocking him backwards
Tanginoa is a back rower, I know some love to say he’s a good prop and he is but he sees himself as a back rower where he made the SL Dream Team. So when he’s consistently picked at prop it’s no wonder he’s disillusioned with his life at Trinity.
Whitbread is another who’s still young, still settling in and also on the other side of the world at the relatively young age of 23.
Aroma has always done a job wherever he’s selected but after 8 years I think we’ve seen enough to know that he’s a better 13 than he is an 8 or 10.
So back to Andrew Fifita, if he’s available and we can muster up the money then I think he’d be a huge lift for the team and the club'"

Pretty much the reason we were in disarray on the edges in defence. Had we 2 centres tonight it would have been much closer.

| I thought we looked really lightweight in the forwards until Fifita and Battye came on, but the game was as good as gone by then. Suppose it didn't help having to play two forwards in the centres.

I really like Whitbread but to me he looks like a 13 more than a prop. Has a good pair of hands on him from what I’ve seen.
I still think we are one big beast of a prop short.
Whitbread looks like a 13 all day for me. Has a good pair of hands and I’d like to see him play there next week with Crowther.
Murphy was the victim of some early nerves and having a forward as your centre partner on your debut isn’t the best and the defence on edges was constantly stretched and numbered up wrong.
Thought the second half Murphy was much better though.
Full focus on Toulouse to get the season going. Still early days and a win next week is exactly what’s needed.

And losing Miller after 5 minutes.
So we had a hooker at Half back where he hasn't been training and a hooker that had to play 80 minutes.

I think you need to take sometime to sit down in a comfy chair and reevaluate what you actually contribute to the betterment of your fellow man/woman because currently my suggestion would be to just stay in the comfy chair and don’t associate with others. I will not comment further because I know you like to get threads blocked by either suddenly making irrelevant posts usually backing de Pfeffel.

Quoting myself as I must apologise. i was meant to quote Poptart's comment "should (sic) have smashed them up the middle". And that's what this was in response to.

No it wasn't. The reason we were in disrray is because our defence from the middles was lazy and ineffective. That's why they constantly had numbers on the edges.

| The problem was not defence in the middle but our lack of eligible players playing in their correct positions. It is possible to replace a centre with a second row part way through a game but not starting with two.
It was obvious they would tire but it was also clear that we had no one to substitute them with.
We will be without Miller next week, let us hope we have some coming back,

| Last night was the most disappointed I have been in a Wakey game for some time
I never felt we posed any threat except for if Dave or Tommy had the ball
It was a really awful first half where leeds simply beat us with some very basic rugby
Also to agree with some of the other posters
I knew we needed establish prop with some size going into the season but that was ever more evident last night
Dave can’t beat a team on his own
We need to pick ourselves up and be ready for Tolouse as it’s either us or them to be relegated this season I am afraid to say

| Bloody awful, and that's being kind.
The only saving grace is we didn't capitulate totally and kept the scoreline respectful in the end.
God knows where that first win is coming from.
