Those stats look great for him. I knew he worked hard but that is excellent.
Only eclipsed by 35 tackles and no missed tackles from Kirmond. He was outstanding and was very unlucky to be on the losing side.

Considering the lack of game time that Matty has had he stood up well in defence and distribution against the top side in the competition so a thumbs from me in the sharing of the hooker role with Paul Aiton.

I'd give him starting spot next week at hooker, put Aiton at LF (if he's fit) and have Washy interchanging.

And interestingly Lynne made 29 tackles as opposed to co centre Collis with 17.

stats dont mean owt to me all depends whos doing em i go with what i see some of collis tackles were try saving crash tackles most of lynnes tackles were second and third man in tackles not trying to discredit the kid but not bulling him up either, if i were the coach wouldnt get carried away with the stats

Harsh to criticise Walshaw for getting skinned by Charnley; he can do anybody. Walshaw looked like the kind of forward we have been crying out for all season. Tall, solid, quick, strong, hard to take down and off loaded the ball. Looked a handful, unlike most of our forwards all season. I'm afraid it just cements my feeling that Agar just cannot spot a good player from a mediocre, from a bad one. We will be lucky to keep Walshaw, especially if we keep treating him like a spare part. A performance like Sunday will be noticed

So the stats count for Kirmond and Wildie , but not for Lynne.
The trouble with this lad is that he was brought in by Agar and people already anti Agar were willing him to fail.
Also people see him usurping the places of the likes of Cowling etc.
He is on a hiding to nothing.

There were a number of young players on the pitch on Sunday who looked like they did or might have, but he still looked like a headless chicken at times to me. He upped it a bit but not massively. He is patently not big enough to play centre in Super League whatever you say about how he may have played on Sunday. I admire anyone with the guts to cross the line as they say and he's not utterly useless; he can attack a bit and is fast, but we will keep shedding tries by the barrell whilst he plays centre, I'm sorry to say

If Lyne made 29 tackles I'm The Reverend Undabanenengwe Sitole. He may have laid a hand on somebody in a Melee in 29 tackle situations but no way did he make 1 tackle every 2 mins 20 secs. I would like to know how these stats are arrived at. He did run wildly around in a Wigan move in the second half, looking like he had no idea where to go. He did hang back, as ever, for the 2nd Wigan try and leave the others to cover for him. Lies damn lies and statistics as the old maxim goes

Looks slight to me compared to many RL centres. Does not look robust. If that's true, he ain't punching it

I really don't trust a lot of these stats. That has to be a mistake. 13 metres?? RL stats in some areas are like trying to decide a scoring punch in boxing. Subjective. They don't take account of the value of the shot either. 29 Lyne v 17 Collis...I know who was and is the most effective player by a country mile

I think if you watch the game again the above will out correct, CA hardly made any yards Lyne was consistent i his defence however DC ran the ball much better
