I think he wanted a two year deal but there were question marks over his fitness after an injury but he came back from that injury to play the last 6 or 7 games of the season and was fantastic.

Although to be fair there is a 1 additional year option in his favour, so its 3 years if he wants it

Ultimately, it's all about capability not age. I get the point about long contracts for older players but for all we know it may be on a reduced terms to reflect a more fringe player at 34.
