I know many of you will not accept that this squad is not good enough. I know the club indicated they are happy with what we have and therefore can wait. I presume they witnessed our performances over the last two seasons and this is basically the same squad.
The longer we wait to grab a bargain the more players are signed by other teams reducing the player pool. I read in one publication that our pack was ranked 11th in super league just above Leigh.
I would remind the club that relegation is reinstated for next season so we cannot stand still we need to improve the squad and it is these players with quality that go first. We have currently signed more coaches than players. We cannot just rely on staying injury free because history says we won’t.
I leave it to the usual to say I am wrong and have faith in the club because they know what they are doing unfortunately I don’t.

Worked with signing Fifita and worked with signing Tanginoa, arguably two of our best signings in the last few years and both came in mid season. The club and the coaching staff have already stated the areas we need to improve and most fans share the same opinions, so not too sure who you aim your post at?

No one is under any illusions but surely there is no point in scarping the barrel with panic signings at this point, there is a lot of uncertainty at the moment especially when looking at overseas players, if we spend our budget now we might just be regretting it when players start to come available in Feb/March time.

Whilst i dont think the current squad is quite strong enough i have to agree there aint no one about to currently improve us with no overseas quota left saw darcy lussick gone to salford feel he would of been a great addition but he an aussie.the issue for me if ya going to fill your quota these players should be first choice 17 and i believe we have 1 that doesnt fit that category

I think it's sensible to see how the team goes with Lino and then modify if we get injuries beyond what we have.
You don't need 30 players for the first game or even the first month. Loan players always come available through the season.

I completely agree. Some people seem obsessed that every position be covered by a host of internationals.

For a start there are not that many quality players available and if there were no team could afford them, especially not us.

People are being totally unrealistic.

What happens if we have an injury free season and a 17 that picks itself, that means we are paying big wages for nothing. Injuries work both ways.

Finally one mans misfortune is another mans gain. Had we not had two seasons of injuries I don’t think Crowther, Croft, Walker and a few others would be as far along as they now are.

Other players have found new skills, people might not want them there but both Tanginoa and Westerman have proved they can play prop/middle if needed whilst Hampshire it would appear can play almost anywhere.

For the budget we have we have a good team that just needs some good fortune. It’s not perfect never will be.

I am sorry but with basically the same squad we hope to improve far beyond what we have shown over the last two seasons. I can only go with history unless the new coaches are able to improve the on field performances.
We will pick up injuries just as night follows day and the make do and mend philosophy will not work. We have rode our relegation luck over the seasons but for the next the other teams have improved their squads whilst we have just stood still. We currently have a roster of 29 players of which several are not close to first team readiness but that is just my opinion.

But on the positive side there is an interview with Tinny who says "Wakefield has given so much to me and my family and I'll be forever grateful.......As long as I know I'm fulfilling my role on the field, I'm proud of my performances and I still have that love for the game, I'll continue to play until the wheels fall off".

Have we not already offloaded several players where did those savings go. It is not for me to decide who to sign or is available, I just believe we are in for a long hard season.

For me the main issue last year was at half back, or team organiser. We have made an attempt to plug that gap with a player who looks pretty good to me. We lost a good and experienced winger but have replaced with two young ones.
The better players in the team we missed last year are now fit.

Let's see how they go before we start saying they are not good enough.

Think the fact schofield is tipping us for bottom says it all.he like some doesnt have rose tinted specs and sees it how it is.where a team that struggled to compete never mind win games over last season and half.with virtually the same squad as those times we can only hope last and poaching can make a massive difference and the players who where really good a couple years ago peform again but there is that worry that maybe they where in there peak then.
Ill know doubt get stick for this but its just about been realistic we will struggle to stay up..not saying we will go down but deffo think we have battle on hands
