| I don't know how to do links so please don't shoot the messenger On the Cas forum some one is questioning who the trust are actually negotiating with. The "developer" company ( Yorkcourt 2008 Ltd ) which is party to the S106 agreement is no longer in the hands of Yorkcourt or their directors ( Mackie and Jones ).
Shoremayne ( Yorcourt properties recent new name ) made a further loss of £1.5 million last year and the parent company are in debt to the tune of £31.5 million.
I don't pretend to understand it all but some one on here may.

| We can slate anyone we like who has previously tried to bring it about, but it's as simple as this:
Trust: pay for our stadium, You promised.
Developer: we don't want to pay for your stadium, even if we did promise. Unless the council force us. Are you going to do that?
Council: we're not planning on doing that.
Developer: there you go. Dewsbury is that way.

| I've had a look on the council website and they claim that there isn't a section 106 in place. Merely a "unilateral undertaking"
[urlhttp://www.wakefield.gov.uk/residents/planning/regeneration/wakefield-wildcats-stadium[/url
Is this the case? I was led to believe that the council had in fact signed a s106?

| It doesn't matter what it is. It's like a contract. Despite what a contract says, if a wronged party won't take action for non-compliance, it's worthless. The same here. It might as well be a cartoon elephant for the good it does.

There is a Unilateral Undertaking in place. It is a Unilateral Undertaking persuant to Section 106 of The Town & Country Planning Act 1990 so you can say what you want but it is a 106 Agreement.
The Council are right, they did not sign the UU because it is what it says it is, a UU. They are however, despite their denials PARTY to the UU because the UU is GIVEN by Yorkcourt TO Wakefield MDC and as Planning Authority the Council have the responsibility for enforcing the UU. The Club and Stadium Trust are NOT party to the UU so cannot enforce it.
As Slugger has said it is a CONTRACT to which the Council are a party and they seem to be struggling with the basics of The Law of Contract.
By the way for the benefit of the Council its not the "Wildcats Stadium" it is a Community Stadium for the citizens of Wakefield of which 15,000 of them signed a petition in support.
To Cosmic Cat and everyone on on here we share your frustration, just think how we feel, but I would hope that there will be a statement in the next few weeks because I think we owe it to ourselves and yourselves to explain the situation.

Indeed - that ship sailed some time ago; the time to use PR to apply pressure to YC was early doors - now they've got Council backing, a site that is already making money, and a precedent set by the Council to allow them to develop it further. Why on earth would they give away millions of quid if they don't have to?
We've been played - again.

| The idea against a public/viral campaign exposing the corrupt/unfair nature of how we've been treated in all this, was that negotiations were still on going and so we didn't want to rock the boat, as far as I'm aware. Now hopes of negotiations have all but faded, surely if time for us to get this plastered all over the internet and anywhere else with the details so people can see for themselves. Even if it changes nothing, at least it exposes the corrupt nature of certain governing bodies.

The council have not signed a 106 agreement. However, they are party to it as it is written to them as a Unilateral Undertaking but the Developer. A UU is covered by section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act. They are building their defence!

I'm presuming because the RFL are saying that we can't stay at Belle Vue and remain in the top flight as there are no signs of progress after many years of promises that they were just around the corner.

Li0nhead comment is about the truth of it all, as unbelievably sad as it is. With no plan in the pipelines as far as Stadia for Trinity, it will be a slow death at Dewsbury......and it was looking all so promising this season as well up to a few days ago.

| We need to move somewhere where we are appreciated, only approx 3000 Wakefield people attend home matches and that is if we are lucky. Wakefield council hate us and work against us. Lets move to a council area where we would be welcomed and see if we can build a fan base in a new area. Despite best efforts the people of Wakefield are not interested in big enough numbers to make it worthwhile staying.

| Come on Guys
This is now the fourth failed attempt Trinity have had in getting a new stadium. Buying back Belle Vue will be the 5th. All the rest have failed so far what makes you think Box will allow this to happen. Its just a dream, even if we get it back we will never have the money to do the work that is required and one thing is for sure the ground safety people will be down like a flash to condemn everything they can.

| Then it wouldn't be Wakefield then would it. Lets also be right, it's easy to have a go at stay away fans but what best efforts, we've had a completely miserable few years, especially last, which will have effected season tickets big time and a crap start to the year. All right, we've had a purple patch when CC took over but it's gonna take more than that. It's meant to be fun and pleasurable to watch RL, especially for non die hard fans and it's been miserable down here, apart from that recent run we went on and CC.
What we need is a proper home (easier said than done) and to keep on improving on the pitch year on year (not just a purple patch) and the Wakefield public would come out in more numbers . I was actually hoping this years performances & Cup run might have added numbers to next years season tickets but now with this talk of leaving Belle Vue, who knows.
Ateotd there's nowhere else that comes close to the potential we have in Wakefield imo. Look what's happened at other clubs when they've gone through seasons of turd and eventually come good like Warrington. Box will eventually off like all Politicians, lets just hope we out last him
I personally think you're dreaming about some fantasy land where a Council will appreciate us more & build us a stadium and thousands more come through the gate. Fact is we've got the population here, with no other sports being played but we need to catch a break on the stadium and then a competing team will look after the attendance figures. As an example look how many more Cas have watching just since Powell took over and got them up the table.

| No I don't know the answer and I don't want to allow the maggot Box to win. I am being realistic, Belle Vue is on life support and borrowed time as a stadium. Much as you all may love it and as much as you all may want to stay,it could be out of everyones control. If the RL deem it unfit that's one thing, then I suppose we could play there in the championship. If the ground safety mob close it down then its out of the clubs control. I hope I am wrong but I think the choice of staying at BV and fighting Box may be out of our hands.
