The club do not want to post it for political reasons. This is a fans effort, by fans / for fans. We have spread it as far as we can on our own steam and are grateful for the support.

If only we could get that many people to recognise the rest of the work behind the scenes on behalf of the fans and get them to join the ST?

It's a great effort for the ST to get such numbers but I really can't understand the club's stance on this. Political or not it's completely in their interest and they have circa 14000 followers. All they have to do is re tweet and instantly they will have a far greater reach. By not supporting is like shooting themselves in the foot.

Let's get the stadium sorted once and for all be it Belle Vue or Newmarket get friends and family to sign petition and get joining the supporters trust it's only a fiver for the year and gives us more clout. Come on let's do this.

Exactly. This is what the Trust is about and issues such as Newmarket.

We need more and more of you to join and some to get involved on the Board in running the Trust. The more we have the more we can do to support the club.

It is an Asset of Community Value - and we are the community.

The club support it, but they have to let us do it.

Sorry Phil I just don't get why the club can't actively support you and Ian and all the others who work damn hard to help get more signatories to this petition. They are part of this community also, they will be the chief benefactors they have the scope to certainly use their influence to generate more interest on what you're trying to do and ultimately lend more gravitas to it.

Still you're in a better position to understand the inner workings of it all so if your happy with then fair do's.

Matt, we are happy with the situation and know that on a personal level the Club do support what we are doing. Indeed Michael Carter was one of the first to sign the petition.

Petition just passed 800 which is fantastic but please keep encouraging friends and family to sign it.

Just had a quick look with a view to signing it. It asks for my name, etc. How many other people would be able to see my details or would it remain private ?

Your email address will be private can't imagine your name being in the public domain , why your not ashamed of yourself

I would have thought a public petition would mean the names will be able to be seen with their details remaining private.

To be honest if you are signing a public petition you should not be afraid of your name being known.

Personal details such as e-mail address etc. should remain private.

It's above what we were told we required and therefore we consider it to be a success, especially in the off-season!

Disappointing that the link did not work for everyone but fortunately it worked for 856 people.

I think the total is pretty good bearing in mind that we are in our close season and we have only had social media to promote it. The figures have been passed to the Council and it is anticipated that they will make their decision in the early part of this month. I will post the outcome on here, facebook and twitter.
