But that makes no difference, it still comes down to a play off series. I've never liked the system and for me consistany should be rewarded but ultimately you could win every league game 50 nil but lose in a final and not be the champions. And this new system is not going to improve matters one jot for championship clubs.

For me if we have to have P&R then one up and one down, the bottom club drops, the top, most consistant, championship club is promoted. The team that does drop then has an even chance of getting back up the following year without having to try and beat four pro teams who have a massive advantage.

Personally I will watch Wakefield regardless of which competition we are in and hope, one day, to see them actually win something. Based on how they finished last season, a second tier round-robin comp between the likes of the Bulls, Widnes, Cas, London, Salford, Fev, Fax and ourselves looks very winnable.

The financial gamble for promotion in the new rules is still there, I don't see how that can be really eliminated. With a tweaked version of P/R (the promoted club having a years grace) can reduce the the financial gamble of trying to stay in SL. Either way the financial gamble is still an attractive way to go for a lot of clubs in the red zone.

Well, on the whole I would have preferred to keep franchising but as said if not enough meet the target it is hard to get the value back.

I have always said that a play off for bottom v top of next division is a good thing if it can be worked out to make sure the team coming up is 'worthy' but with different salary caps it's a bit unfair.

This system is trying to sort that out.

More games for those in play offs and a team outside the 12 has a way in, judged purely on playing results.

Thats the trouble with the modern game, everything is dictated by self interest throughout the game and every team is guilty of that. Probably the worst example for me was Hull KR (reportedly) been in favour of a ten team SL, obviously with view to them been in it.

The problem is SL clubs have to much input into RL. There should be an independent board who dictate the strategy and direction of RL. This system basically makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. Instead of playing Wigan, Leeds, Warrington three times we could swap that for NW Crusaders, Rochdale, Workington etc. That will decimate gates and a clubs income.

How are clubs suppose to budget when they've no idea whether they'll be in the top 8 play-off or middle 8 and possibly relegated. Franchising was poorly implemented and the RFL lacked a backbone to actually demote teams. If they'd have actually followed through with it properly, we'd not need a 'revolutionary change' or whatever bs spin they put on it

If you're unlucky enough to go down at the end of the season you'll have approx £900k as against approx £550k for the highest ranked championship club which should be enough to see you come straight back up, so it's not all bad news. From then on with full funding it's in your own hands.

Let's hope your team and coach have more confidence this year than some on here most are talking as though you are going down and are too good to be playing teams in the championship The reality is that if you or any other team is not good enough your out of S/L it simply If you deserve to be in you will be there next season

As for franchising if the RFL had stuck to there guns and implemented it properly there's a few clubs that wouldn't be in it now and if your honest with yourselves Wakefield would be one of them

And all those years prior to that when winning the league would have given you promotion. Your team could not hack it then. You had years of opportunity to get into the top league but were never good enough. In fact you came close one evening in Huddersfield but choked



Your club is nothing more than a village side that punches above its weight now and again but it will never have the resources to compete with the top clubs ever again.

If we don't finish in the top 12 we deserve to go down I agree with that what I don't agree with is anyone that finish 12th in the following years won't be judged the same. A second chance with favourable odds will exist. On top of that anyone finishing top of the Championship will be have a very slim chance of getting promoted no matter how well they dominated the Championship. A point that seems to of gone over most Fev fans head.

Fev might not even make the cut. Think of it like this:-

Middle 8 in 2016 could be Wakey, Cas Tigers, Widnes and Salford (From SL) and joining them London, Bradford, Halifax and Leigh. Owt' can happen in 2 seasons.

If that is the case then so be it but in 2015 we will have the chance and if we are good enough we will take it if not we stay where we are. Your team will have nothing to worry about if it is superior to ours on and of the field in the Wakey area but I know who is running there club right at the moment and has been for a few year now

Unless of course the RFL devise a cunning plan where the team which finishes top of the Championship gets to pick which two S.L club they play at home (a bit like the cherished Club Call)

There is a huge difference between running Semi Pro and fulltime clubs. Its well documented for any club to be sustainable at SL it needs gates around 10K. At Wakey we are far from that but the potential is there. At Fev it will never happen you are just fooling yourselves.

So you finish top of the Championship in 2015, enter the 8 team middle league with 4 SL teams and come up short you'd be happy? Considering the SL teams will be better prepared with bigger playing budgets and players that are well above the game pace of the Championship. I would bet a pound to a penny that after the first season, when in all probability the top 4 of the middle will be the bottom 4 from SL these forums will be all abuzz with the Championship team fans claiming foul play at how unfair it is on them.

The funding yet to be decided but if we come short so be it we stay where we are the club will of made a lot more income for the middle 8 mini league and we will have more revenue to build the club stronger and try again in 2016
