| Anthony Tupou is quality and would get in most superleague 17's.
England, Arona & Simon are good props and would probably get a place in some teams first choice of 4/5.
BJB decent winger in a good side, not what is needed in a struggling one. And not a first choice fullback anywhere.
Bill Tupou would be a handy winger if we played him therr, but hasn't got the skills or defensive nouse as a centre.
Johnstone is a work in progress and will probably end up fulfilling his potential elsewhere.
The rest of the squad aren't good enough for superleague, simple as. Some of them are triers yes but not up to standard.

| Its a shame with BJB, seen him do some handy work when we're going forward and he's steady under the bomb, but his impact on defence is poor. But with the squad we've got, what do you do?
Only sensible thing I can think of is BJB --> wing Hall ---> Fullback---Arundel ----> Centre.

| I said when we signed BJB that I thought he was overrated and not really all that and unfortunately I am yet to see anything from him to prove me wrong.

| Pretty unbelievable that in a thread criticising BJB's lack of heart and defence it is being suggested he is replaced at full back by Hall. Out of the frying pan into the fire in that respect.
I think we need to give players a run of games in a position before switching or dropping them but agree BJB needs to step up his efforts and cut out the errors.

Arona is quite possibly the worst of the lot. Heart the size of the pea. Think he's been spending too much time with Scruton the skipper.

| Grafters do not usually play at full back or wing.Remember Leeds did not offload Bishop, he was offered contact extension , but chose to leave for regular game time.Admittedly he is not at his best, but you do not score the tries I have seen him score without having above average ability.Don't know exact number, but didn't he score 20 plus for Salford last season?

| I don't know exact number he scored for Salford but scoring that number he needs to be on the wing then. You cant deny he has pace but he is not a good full back he has a lack of communication when organising the defence besides being weak in his tackle. I would not put Hall at fullback that showed last season how much a fullback he is. I would put Tansey at fullback the time he did play fullback he organised the defence and played well Bishop for me would take Lynes spot on the wing.

| BJB picked up an injury, Reece Lyne was already injured, so was put on the wing. Damage limitation.

If we got any spare cash I would much prefer Morgan Escare.

| My twopenneth, Miller to fullback, BJB to wing, Hall a try out at Stand off.
Two contenders for fullback are out on loan, don't know if they can be recalled before the month expires. But the way Paul Anderson was talking in a recent interview it seems as though they were looking at a trial period for a longer deal. ps Tansey is a magnificent player Paul , well worth £100k imo

| If BJB is injured along with Lynne then surely Jowitt has to come in at fullback and Morris/Arundel on wing?

I don't think it would do him much good coming into the team in the current situation. He'd be better off going to York with Jordan for a few weeks until we get our new coach and the team are playing a bit (or a lot) better

err, yes it does.
Also I reckon you should take your blinkers off and watch Howarth - the lad can play.

I liked Howarth the first time round and whilst no world beater he doesn't let you down and think he is the closet thing we have to a natural leader. But my bug bear with him is at hooker he doesn't offer enough of a running threat purely because he doesn't do it often enough. Six games in he has only made ten runs, and he's scored from three of them! 37 meters made in total and just nine against saints and none at all the previous week. It makes us much easier to defend against. We need him to keep the defence guessing a little more which would help our halfbacks although i accept when our pack is getting dominated it isn't easy.

| Sorry oh mighty one. God has spoken I must bow down to your superior knowledge. His distribution is prettt slow and he doesn't run from dummy half to any great effect. He's a 13 in my eyes but there's plenty of other options there such as annakin Tupou, Simon etc. He's solid and he can play I agree there but every player should be able to at this level. I don't dislike him, the lad gives 100% every game but he's not the great player you make him out to be

| Howarth strikes me as one of those Moneyball kind of players - unspectacular, under the radar and rarely stands out; but he makes few mistakes, knows when to go for the line and if you calculate how much a try costs, he's probably offers amongst the best RoI in SL.

I agree about Jowitt.
The lad is a natural FB and has plenty of pace plus, he will give 100% effort.
He certainly bust a gut at Fev pre season and deserves a shot.

We've played players at full back who can't tackle, can't catch a high ball, can't organise the defence or know when to link up in attack - and that has happened frequently for more years than I care to remember week in week out. I just wander which of those qualities doesn't Jowitt possess to enable him to be given a shot ?
