We were always blue with red stripe before the war. We haven't always had white as home shirt.

I think it was late fifties or early sixties when the predominantly white strip was introduced.

I seem to think that it was mentioned in Neil Fox's biography about what we'd class as the traditional Trinity kit was introduced.

Remember us playing in darkish blue shirt with broad red band and two narrow red bands in the mid-fifties.

I see the logic regarding the shirts. However the away shirt is clearly the home shirt and one can only hope that the pretence that it isn't will be dropped as the season commences.

The problem with that is the main sponsor has donated the front of the away shirt back to the club so I guess we'll need to wear the blue one for most games.

Strictly speaking, they are worn for the same number of games and up to now we've always had more away than home in playoffs.

Except will be seen by fewer people who live within the area of the sponsor, as well as likely to clash with Saints, Catalan, Hull KR and Hull FC.

I guess that is why we normally go with white as home.
The blue isn't the problem, it's choosing white as the away. Too many clashes. Either go red or as we are all saying, make the white one home.
May unfortunately be too late now.

It's not an 'away' kit - it's an alternative kit, to be worn when the main shirt clashes with the home sides kit. We may see it 6-8 times I would reckon!
