Enough of the quick fixes. Until the club is properly and sustainably supported it's never going to grow and we'll keep having this discussion ad infinitum. If Webster were to go (and unless he resigns it's not going to happen) we'd only get another flawed coach who'll make their own mistakes and so the fans turn on him until the next fall guy is installed. If it takes a drop into the division below to get the club sorted so be it. Consistently fire fighting isn't doing anything for the club. After 15 years of top flight action the club has not evolved one iota. We still get crap crowds, we still have few club trained players in the squad, we still are lurking in the lower echelons of Super League and despite the best efforts of a few people we still operating out of a unfit for purpose stadium.

This is very similar to how I am now thinking. Only once have we looked like a team that could go places and that was the season when we were cheated at Wigan. Since then we have thought success was staying in SL.
I've had enough of that ethos but I cannot see us progressing until we get a Dr whatshisname for our team. This does not mean I am being disrespectful for the present regime or indeed AG, for without them we would have folded.
Our support is pathetic really but I'm afraid it is as good as it's going to get, until there is a team of true quality at the club and a better environment to actually go to. The crowds will then return.

Its money that will attract players not the stadium (although I'm not denying we need one). Having said that , Ive just watched Cas v Leeds and to be honest they (Cas) didn't look much better than us and they had a full team out. It's the attitude of our players at the minute thats soul destroying….they have all bought into the injury crisis and look decidedly sorry for themselves which is pretty pathetic. Lets hope we can ride this storm until we get some troops back and then see how we perform, also I hope we have some youngsters in on Monday because they play will total enthusiasm and desire and make the trip to headingley a bit more bearable.

The bloke for the job is Andy Kelly, I know he's at Huddersfield but he's Wakefield through and through. Nobody would command respect around the place better and he's also spent years in youth development so understands how important that is too.

Seemed to be doing ok with Kelly but obviously maybe thought it wasn't worth the hassle.
Kelly is used to the shenanigans at Wakey, where Harkin wasn't!

They were co coaches and interestingly they also had Nobby on the staff but sacked him mid season.

Kelly and Harkin were both removed in favour of Mitch Brennan, Kelly was then appointed as Assistant. When Brennan was sacked Kelly took the job no one wanted, Trinity were a very poor mid to lower table 2nd Division team.

If I remember correctly the following season Kelly took us to the Grand Final and we won our place in SL.

To be fair though he did have a cracking team in comparison to the rest of the division. Adam Hughes, Sonny Wakarue, Garen Casey and our Aussie captain who's name escapes me plus many others.
Think Andy showed his strengths more that 1st season in Super League. It was sad that he was the 1st scapegoat of the Pearman fiasco.
