A few month back on the VT some rabid poster was complaining how often we’d avoided the bullet and how we needed to be flushed out of SL. He/she stated that we must be the cat that’s used all it’s 9 lives. Much as I wanted to it was hard to argue with him/her.

So as a matter of interest just how many of our lives have we used up since we were last properly relegated in 1986/87 (I think).

Not just last day hobbies but must win games. For example I recall in 1989/90 season (I think) that we had to beat Halifax in the penultimate game. If we lost it would not have been possible to have overcome their superior points difference or something like that.

Regarding the number of lives, the answer is, as many as it takes.

Trinity's USP over the past 25 years or so, has been to survive against all odds in the top flight.
The Crusaders pulling out of SL was massive.
This season against Bradford and the great escape under Kear are the biggest moments and having to win away at Salford on the last day to survive 2001 ?

This season's escape seemed to upset some of our "friends" over t'common, which added an extra layer to the pleasure of staying up.
They couldn't wait for us to finally be relegated but, it wasn't to be.





It doesn't matter what is thrown at the club, on field or off field, we seem to have a knack of getting through and defying the odds.

I find it quite funny how a local near us is so upset we didn't go down and cant help but laugh at the little world he must live in when it upsets him that much but as I keep saying who sent who down in 2006

Great business/PR decision by your "Director friend" then not to open the club and take the opportunity to get extra revenue like ALL the others did.

Yes of course there are people that would have liked you to go down, but for gods sake don't start feeling sorry for yourselves when people say it, as I will never forget the abuse and yes physical violence in "that game" in 2006.
