| If we got him, it would be a fabulous move, and I believe if they are on loan, they dont count on your salary cap, clubs have an agreement where they pay each other through the inter club accounts, which is controlled by the RFL
Even it it is less than a season long loan, it may give the team a leg up and a shot of confidence they need, they could then build on that through the season

| Would be an excellent signing, for whatever reason it has not really worked for him at saints but there is no doubt that he is better than what we have.

| I think that before the drink driving incident the club had worked very hard to get Tim Smith signed up for another year. So having to sack Tim Smith was a double hit as we lost him for end of last season and also for this season. Then of course whist we were working on getting Tim Smith signed up any other quality half back that may have been on the market were signed up by other clubs. So we end up with Finn and Miller because there was nothing else left on the market. Miller has proved that at best he is an average championship player ( don`t get me wrong that is a very creditable standard, anyone who plays pro sport deserves respect ). The good news is that the club seem to be aware that the Finn Miller combination is not fit for SL and it would appear that they are working hard to improve our half backs. Travis Burns would be a massive improvement.

| I think he could offer us a stand off very much like garen Casey was a strong runner who can make something from nothing . Plus he is a very passionate player who plays with a lot of fire in his belly something we are definitely missing at the moment. A fine example of a class player who plays better at smaller clubs. Please MC get him signed before it's too late and other clubs come sniffing

| Great idea but as Sts aren't exactly firing on all cylinders and Burns has just copped a one match ban, I can't see them letting anyone go.
Stand off is a problem area for them.
Unless they are bringing someone else in.

I don't think the salary cap is a problem ,if our squad is costing anything near the cap we must be getting robbed.
However I would have thought the biggest problem would be overseas quota. How could we get Burns without loosing an overseas player.

| We let Kevin Locke, Tim Smith and Pita Godinet go at the end of last year, and have brought in only Anthony Tupou and Arona, since then. Jacob Miller, Bill Tupou and Scott Anderson were already here, so by my reckoning, we have 1 space available

Sio ? don't forget him joining late last season. I'll stand to be corrected because I am not sure but I thought we were up to quota.

| There is no doubt that Burns has skills - but if we're already struggling with lopsided penalty counts, he won't do anything to help that situation; the bloke's radged.

| Yes, Sio did come late last season.
Though he was here before the end of the season, part way through last season though, Collis, Paea, Sammut and Ryan all left before the season ended, to eanable us to bring in Locke, Sio and Bill Tupou.
Since the end of the season we lost 3 overseas players and brought in 2

We have 6 overseas/Non federation trained players - Anderson, Tupou x2, Arona, Sio & Miller. If the rules haven't changed since last year then we can have one more.

| Travis Burns is really overrated and shouldn't be at a club like St Helens, but he's still miles better then our current no 6. The only issue is his temper. Personally I'd rather look to get Theo Fages instead.

Loaned players count on the cap of the loanee club, regardless of who is actually paying the wage.

The temporary transfer of a Player by way of a loan shall be treated as a
permanent transfer. Accordingly:
(i) where a Super League Club is the loaning Club, the Player shall
cease to be a considered to be a Player of that Club for the
purpose of calculating its Aggregate Liability for the duration of
the Loan;
(ii) where a Super League Club is the loanee Club, the Player’s full
Salary Cap Value at his original Club (for the avoidance of doubt
excluding any dispensations that related only to the Original
Club) shall count towards the loanee Club’s Aggregate Liability.
'"
Most Saints fans would be happy about this if its true, anything that gets Fages up the pecking order!

| Yes we need some players and Burns would be a good option but like I said we ain't gonna achieve much when we have players who aren't upto it in the side. Too many passengers

| What is the point in this purely fictional topic, Burns is not coming to us where do these names come from. We couldn't afford to keep Godinet and I would expect most clubs pay more than we do. If Huddersfield cannot find a stand off with their resources what chance have we.
We have made our choice and to go with Miller and Finn and we have no other options nor does it appear we will. I don't believe we have anyone in the under 19's who is good enough to fill such an important position.

First I would repeat what I have said previously, that our squad is costing now where near the money we get from SL funds. If it is
the people running our club need to hang their heads in shame because they are being robbed.
Secondly you could ditch 5 players from our squad and the team would be no weaker and they would not be missed. Just as an example 1. Walker or Yates
2. Tansey
3. Arundel
4. Owen or Lynne or Walton
5. Molloy
(I am sure people could suggest others but these names are examples of what I am getting at)
Unless we are totally stupid I would think most of the above are on small wages but the added wage of 5 would get you a decent half back I would have thought, certainly enough to keep Godinet.
