| Anybody know how our injured players are progressing- is Tom Johnstone on course for the start of next season?
How are the others going on?
Will be like having new signings if they all bounce back fit and well!

I don't know but I don't think we picked up many injuries at the back end of the season. only Bill T springs to mind.
If TJ's last ACL is anything to go by and assuming it was a success then he should be ready for the start of the season, ditto Arone. I imagine Fifita will be ok, don't know about Ashurst. Any others no idea.

Yeah, I suppose only the club really know. I ask, but am confident Tom will be back, I know the knee injury he sustained is not career ending nowadays, as it used to be.

| Arona’s hoping to be ready for the start of the season, but the doctor’s told him early March.

| Fifita is the one that concerns me, last I heard they wanted to operate but they did not know the extent of the problem, These are the types of injuries that can sometimes take multiple surgeries to get 100% right. Last thing we want is a situation like Cudjoe at Hudds, at fantastic player ruined by 3 surgeries to get his knee right.

Lets not forget Arona ruptured both his ACL and MCL in May, that`s a huge Injury and one that a lot of pro athletes would not return from at all, so I would not take for granted he will be back for the start of the season.

I'm not taking it for granted that why I said 'I don't know but' and 'assuming it's a success'

You know this how? I don't claim to be an expert but I'd have said knees tend to be more trouble than feet but then neither of us know do we.

They couldn't find the issue with his foot, scan after scan highlighted nothing. They now have to operate but the last I heard they did not know the full extent of the problem - I guess I as just "assuming" that this could lead to the Opp not been as straight forward.
And yes I would agree, Knees do seem to be a little more complicated.

It's a great saying but it doesn't work in the context in which I used the expression.

Fifita's had the surgery. Photo on his Instagram of the scar after he had his boot taken off.

| Knees and feet both stop you running. I'm only assuming they are the same magnitude.

I don't know tbh but I get the feeling that a knee is more complex generally when it comes to surgery. It's un-scientific but I broke a bone in my foot once and they just put on a plastic cast thing for a few weeks whilst they did nothing for a broken toe. Likewise, my mate fractured the bone just above the ankle which he had plated up but he was walking in four weeks and running in 8. So I'm just going off personal experience but as I say its very un-scientific.

It just depends what it it I guess.
I tore ACL and medial playing rugby.
Took me a good year to recover as I wasn't a pro training every day so I know it's major but equally a big toe injury effectively ended Linekar's career and stopped Haye winning a world title.
Time wise certainly there is a lot more to heal in a knee.

I’ll give you lineker but I’m not having the haye one. Didn’t get near klitchsko toe or not (it was his little toe if I remember right), he always had an excuse throughout his career.
Hopefully all the players will get a good off season under their belts and come back fully fit. Surely we won’t see so many bad injuries next year.

I agree. I was just picking examples. Haye was a strange one.
It will be like having a team of new signings when they are all back. Main thing to work on is syncing them all back up as a team.

And getting them incredibly fit as in the Geoff Evans days.

Haye could not put push on his right leg at all throughout the fight, he was so far removed from the style he was fighting at the time I don`t know how you could come to a conclusion it would not have had any effect on the fight.
He should have pulled out of the fight but he didn't and yes, he would of probably done right to just keep his mouth shut. You obviously know very little about boxing as a broken toe, or any foot injury effects balance and everything goes from that in boxing.

Wow. The statement was “it cost Haye a world title”. I’m saying he wouldn’t have won that title injury or not. Was I being unclear? It did have an effect on the fight yes, it made it a snooze
Fest and he would still have lost anyway instead of losing by 12 rounds on the cards. The guy has a history of pulling out of fights and making excuses. Ask Tyson Fury his opinion, but he probably knows nothing either.

Tbh I don't know whether he'd have won or not without that foot injury but what I'm sure of is that performance was a shadow of a normal Haye fight. Haye's a power puncher capable of putting anyone to sleep in the HW division so it would have been silly to rule him out imo. A foot injury makes it impossible to deliver your power shots in the same way or effectiveness and that was clear all fight. He had trouble all nighty getting into and out of Klitchko's range, where normally it's one of the things he's been good at, countering shots of taller boxers. Ateotd Klitchko was on his game and used his height and jab like he always did. Haye needed everything to go right and needed to land heavy hands on him early which he just wasn't able to do.
As for him pulling out of fights, every fighter does especially as they get older. Fury nearly wrecked his whole career through lack of self discipline , drugs and mental health problems, even before that he's not really someone who i'd be looking to get the truth from.
