I do think we need another halfback, not convinced with the longevity of a Finn/Miller combination, but Chase? No thank you - Leigh are welcome to him (and will go crashing back down to earth).

He can do some out of the world stuff but is too much hassle for me so its a NO thanks

I'd have him in the team.
The guy is worth turning up to watch on his own, not always for the right reasons but, you need one or two "bad" players in your squad.
However, this would only be if Mr Smith thinks that he can "control" him.

Whether we can afford his wage demands is another thing altogether so, I cant see him coming to Balle Vue and if he is on anything like the contract he was rumoured to be on (around 250k ??) you couldn't justify the expense. But, the guy is certainly worth watching..

We have a reputation for taming maverick players (well, we had until Tim & Kevin blotted their copybooks). Don't like the guy personally, but would love to see him display his skills in the red white & blue

Sacking tim and kevin showed that our club don't put up with crap from any player,So bring him on.He is worth the risk. IMO

Magical at times I agree but so unpredictable even he doesn't know what he's doing at times.

Im not sure he will have that many clubs after his services . I don't think any of the top 4 /5 clubs in S L will be interested and looking at the others they all seem well covered in the H B positions.
If and only if B S thinks he could get the best of him and hes prepared to put the effort in , I would say yes .
He is class but is not a constant performer , its about his ambition and application .
Its the type of signing that would benefit both player and club , and on his day a crowd pleaser.
If a deal can be done great but I also thought he was on his way to Leigh

Can Brian Smith deal with him? If his behaviour can be managed then he is worth a chance. sadly I think the answer to the question is no, if he could be managed he'd be at a top 4 club. Man loves a pound note more than playing rugby.

Not a signing I would be in favour of normally . However if Brian Smith has previous dealings with him and he believes that he knows that he can consistently get the quality performances from Rangi Chase that we all know that he is capable of then i would have no complaints with the signing( however unlikely)

Not for me thanks, though I don't think the Miller/Finn partnership will be long term, especially that Finn I believe to be 31 or 32, and therefore, think we need 1 more half back

If it is true that he is on around £250k per year, and even if we could afford him, which I'm not convinced about, I would rather we spent the money on an NRL half back that BS knows and may have already worked with.

Also, someone mentioned a gamble. If I was spending that kind of money on a player, I would want him on the pitch every game possible, without the risk of suspension.

If by some minor miracle, we could actually afford him and he wanted to come, anybody in there right mind would take him.

I'm struggling to think of a SL side that wouldn't be improved by having Rangi Chase, be it Leeds, Sts, Hudds, Warrington etc. We finish so far beyond bottom its untrue and we wouldn't want him????

With regards disruptive, i have spoken to people who have shared changing rooms with him and they all speak very highly about him as a bloke. Slight loose cannon, but they are ten a penny in this game.

Absolutely not - he'll go to Leigh as part of their cap-busting exercise, and good luck to them; like Gareth Hock, he has some amazing qualities as a player, but lacks the character to be a functional cog in a bigger machine. It's a no from me.

250k! absolutely not! I might take a punt at 50 k - he comes with history and he's worth no more.

Rubbish. If a players playing well he's playing well regardless of what he earns. Fans don't look at players and think 'well that was a shocking performance but he's only on 10k per year so actually it was quite good.' Chase is better than what we already have so in my opinion we must go for him.
