| I'm aware that people can be hyper sensitive on here but I was wondering, I've watched Wakey for 25 years home and away etc etc.
Now this season I won't go again until I am entertained, yes I love the club but common sense dictates that I want to spend my leisure time and money on being entertained.
I suppose my question is for those of you that still go religiously even though and I feel justified in saying this the product currently is atrocious, what keeps you going even when there is nothing visually of interest.
I've often wondered this of diehards, ill stress again I'm am not judging you at all just interested in your drivers.

| They are the team from the city of my birth. They are the one constant in a sadly changing world. We are not fashionable so the supporters of WT are that true RL followers. I have only seen us win two trophies in all the years the Yorkshire Cup and the first division championship but I will always remember those nights, if you support Wigan or Leeds these would mean nothing but to us everything.
We have a lower threshold for considering success and I can't believe why you and some on here think this season is any different to any other we have had. I think that because the team we have put together is far better than anyone would think possible some have unrealistic views of what they expect to see. I have seen many performances like those recently so why should this cause supporters to be so negative. I can only put it down to the reintroduction of relegation and the lack of faith that we will survive. The one thing I have learned over the years is that we are fighters, we won't win every game but we will surprise a few, we just have to hope that they are enough to stay up.

The most fervent supporters will go no matter what is being dished up on the pitch!
I go to every home match because I have season ticket. Not just that though, I think most diehard supporters go match by match hoping to see some improvement and encourage the team accordingly.
You may think it's bad now but you should have seen some of the players wearing the RWB in the 1980's playing the likes of Huyton etc in front of crowds sometimes just in excess of 1000! - think yourself lucky nowadays!

| Two reasons.
3 hours peace and quiet away from her indoors.
The "tales of the unexpected" you just never know what you are going to get with Wakefield, don't really wish to miss the away win at Wigan etc that comes out of the blue

You say you won't go again until you are entertained. How will you know if you don't go?
This is Wakey, we are likely to put in a great performance against someone unexpectedly and you won't be there. You'll see the result, think "that's better" and now I will go again as it looks like we can be entertaining. You'll turn up at the next game and we'll get battered and be awful.
So the reason I go to every (or as many as I possibly can) game is because I don't want to miss those occasional games where we do something unexpected. I'd love it if we could do it every week but I'm realistic enough to know that just isn't going to happen - you just have to enjoy it when it does.
Take the midweek game in 1994 at Wigan as a prime example - We went there having been beaten in the cup 2 weeks earlier, Tuigamala was making his Wigan debut, everyone expected Wigan to walk all over us and Henry Paul ran the show and we came away victorious.
That's why I go, for moments like that.

| Used to be a die hard but sadly no more, have a season ticket and can't see me ever not buying one.
Away games are a rarity these days because of time and money.
Love the club and I will always support WTW but lost interest in the game and the way its run.

| The start of Super League and our "expulsion" from the top flight almost stopped me going to watch Wakey and I fell out with RL at that point and missed a couple of seasons.
Started going again in the second year of SL but, the constant meddling with the game by the RFL, together with Wakefield's financial perils, make the game far more difficult to embrace that it used to be.
The 2 x 12 and 3 x 8 structure leaves clubs like ours under permanent threat of relegation and I firmly believe that we will end up with a 10 team SL in the near future, which will be unlikely to include Trinity.
We are certainly not a club for glory hunters and we do lurch from crisis to crisis, which prevents us from attracting some new fans.
However, there have been some great moments over the last 25 years (sadly, not enough of them) and this is why we keep coming back for more.

| Being a kid in Wakefield in the 60's meant Trinity was just a major part of your life.
Still the same now and, although I would prefer to watch a winning team, results never really come into it. Like others I have dropped off away games recently mainly because I've increased the amount of cash I put into Trinity direct. It kills to see Agar destroying the club but he'll be gone soon and Wakefield, in what ever form and what ever level, will still be around I hope. I'll be there, miserable as sin!

Cant see where you're coming from personally?
Looks like we've followed the club over the same period of time....those 25 years have in typical Wakey fashion been full of ups and downs....a lot more downs aswell....
There's been great moments in there though, moments that will live with us forever....the next one of those is always potentially one game away....like winning away at Central Park in the 90's....like going to Headingley at Easter 2005 after being absolutely trounced at home by Huddersfield just days before.....
I'm sure in the last 25 yrs following us you have spent time and money to be not entertained...by much worse players/teams but still stuck by us....just think how many embarrassing fruitless trips to Cumbria we endured...but we kept on making the trip and were rewarded with that fine win at Whitehaven that day when the players came over for a singsong at the end....
Why now then in the most important season of all would you throw that 25 year love affair away? Especially when a man like MC and his team have come in and done what they have to give us a fighting chance....still way too early to be throwing the towel in...IMO....
Can also identify with Al's situation...as I cant get to all away games through a combination of time...money...family etc.....not going to home games I see as a different issue though and one I wouldnt stop doing....especially not a season as big as this....
See you all Friday....lets be loud and proud for the club we all love!?

| I tend to think the money is a big issue but then I ask myself this, if it was only £5 to go to an away game would I go? And the answer is no, I'm not enjoying the product on the field anywhere near as much as I have in the last 28yrs of watching Trinity.
I think the speccis at all grounds are much less tolerant and more volatile than in the past, we've been to Hull in yrs gone bye and stood in the Thruppany stand and not had a punch thrown, but that can't be said for a lot of grounds ( ours included) these days.
I'm not that enamoured with the new pre fabricated grounds but understand the need for them, the game is getting too sterile, the overall management of the game is abysmal and open to favouritism and the new relegation/promotion format seems to me a way to get rid of clubs without much chance of the lower clubs having a hope in hell of getting promotion, it all stinks and I for one don't like the stench!

| Would be interested im hearing from fans of other clubs on this.
Do Cas fans feel differently bearing in mind they are flying high, does that alter fans views on their feelings for the club and the game in general.
Or Bulls fans have they fallen out with the club/game or as it galvanized them.

| Personally I can't stand following cars that have Bulls, and Rhinos stickers on them drive away from Belle Vue on match days and then head towards Ossett, Horbury, Thornes or Lupset.
Wakefield born and bred, have had too much affinity and connection with the club to support any other no matter what level we play at and no matter what the other teams nearby might be achieving.
People who jump from one club to another must be pretty shallow IMO

| Yeah but clan I don't think they are talking about changing clubs, but it is getting harder to maintain the enthusiasm, especially with all the shenanigans off the field every other year! I work shifts so can't make every home game but always attend work permitting, but didn't bother to Leeds CC game at home, I could see what was coming. I'm in my thirtieth year watching the Trin but just not enjoying it at the moment, it appears there is just too much pressure not to fail at the moment. However, it's nothing a good result against Cas won't sort out!

| I guess I will start by acknowledging I am bound to be more positive than some. I'm constantly accused of it and accept that.
A couple of the reasons have been addressed already. I've been watching since mid 70s, probably 1979 by the time I could say I was old enough to know what was really going on.
In that time I have watched some woeful Wakefield times (not teams). We have had seasons where the entertainment in terms of winning games has been low, but for me the entertainment is lower level than that.
I can't think that the thrashing against Leeds had many high points, but I've seen those before. But I have also seen games when we have been beaten but shown great endeavor, been beaten and showed a lot of skill and also won with great entertainment.
Each season whether good results or bad, there has always been something to entertain me. It can be one tackle in a game, like Southern at Widnes. It can be one piece of magic like Topliss, Smith Fletcher in the semi against Saints in 79.
It could be Henry Paul at Wigna against the odds, or Solomona against Wigan in the playoffs when we lost.
Each one has it's merits and deep down that is what makes me go.
There have been seasons when I have been to only a few games; main one being when my son was born, but I have also been through seasons when I went home and away to every game.
I was in Whitehaven at the mentioned win with the players coming in to the crowd. Happy days.
I have a season ticket now, but that's only been so since the Elston cheap ticket prices. I paid on the door before then and still went all the time.
At the end of the day, I feel that I am in enough credit with Wakefield that it would take quite a few seasons of no entertainmment to diminish my enjoyment.
Those that are disenchanted with the game possibly know more about it than I do and that is why we are different. I love it for the core value of the sport, and the core values and passion of those that take the field. The rest is just noise to me. I'm interested but not affected quite as much as others are.
While writing I'm thinking I must have averaged a concervative 12 games a seaon for 35 seasons. 560 hours of Wakefield Trinity, with a lot more video and tv on top of that.
That probably cost me about £5,000 not including petrol. I'm happy with my return on investment and will continue to invest in future.

| I don't get to many games at the moment with living away and not having a job at the moment, but I'm wakey through and though. Even when I lived in the US and didn't get home much, when I did make it, BV was always a visit. I have followed the red, white and blue in the lower leagues and will do so again if that turns out where we land. I live and breathe Wakefield trinity and will so as long as I have a breath in my body.
