Rumours going around the Hull forum that O'Meley is signing for us next season. Anyone heard anything of this one?

Tickle O'Meley, Manu, all want away or are not high on the list of "keeps" it seems.

Scrap what I said, just had a look at his stats and he's a bit of a midget so lets stay clear eh?!

A bit of a risk regarding injuries and age but if he could stay fit he would be an excellent signing. Just the kind of prop we need. He would definitely give our backs more room to play in

Just what we need in my view - 20 mins per half of aggressive, 'orrible, old school prop-forwardry.

Wouldn't the Ogre be classed as quota though?

i heard o meley and elima mentioned the other day, but did not think much about it until i saw this thread appear, so who knows.

Very good prop, still one of the best in the league IMO, very aggressive.

Downside is that he seems to be picking up a few knocks, quota player and will be on very good money.

I'd keep him at Hull on a one year deal, reduced salary, but expect he will get a better offer elsewhere.

Be a very good signing for Wakey IMO.

He was apparently upset at the way Agar was treated at Hull as he rated him as a coach so who knows? Exactly the type of prop we need even if he is getting a little long in the tooth. Would mean one of this years overseas players making way though.

If signed Omeley it could be that Southern wants out but willing to finish season off.

NO YOU HAVE TO BE 6'2'' AND 22 STONE TO BE A PROP - he isn't, NGBC will be heartbroken - either that or he will have one of his creative moments and imagine him to be bigger than he is because he's an Aussie.

Happily have tickle. Not sure where we would fit him though.

Having Tickle would certainly solve the goal kicking problem once Sykes' loan period finishes at the end of this season.

I'd keep Sykes if available.
I'd have O'Meley but rather have this season.
I'd take Tickle but he'll be going somewhere bigger.

I kind of agree with what you are saying though. If we were going for old prop in his last season I'd try for Morley to be honest. You get a leader at the same time.

If he was a short term fix arriving tomorrow I'd take him but if we are honest, gien a season to recruit, he is probably not the best option.

He has plenty of power and hes bigger than any of our props. Raleigh is ok if he had a couple with power on the interchange. O' Meley would be a very good signing.

He is only 31, should be in his prime for a prop.

I'll give you one thing, in his day he was a better but not bigger prop - now he's probably neither.

He is bigger than other prop we may be looking at and gives away less pens

I guess that means that one of Mellars/Southern will leave then if we do sign him.

As a former Crusaders player I thought Mellars was exempt from quota restrictions.
