But there are also a few who are wary of the Kear factor - his ability to get his side up for one off games.

What do you all think the scoreline will be this weekend - predicting with your head and not your heart !

Expecting a loss, perhaps the adversity could narrow the gap, but Cas play good open Rugby and last season showed Trinity are not able cope with that. Something along the lines of 12 – 36 to Cas.

well maybe im optomistic or just mad in the head but i dont think there will be a lot in it at all, 1st game of season fired up to proove the critics wrong if we go with the right mental attitude get our tactics right i think it will be close maybe 28-20 either way

Dont hold out much (any) hope for the season and think our weakness i the pack will see us over run in most games and we will be lucky not to finish bottom, particularly with the points dediction in the post. You never know, we may have some positive news before the game that might bring a bit of much needed confidence into the camp after a pretty poor 2 months.

I really do think we can win on Saturday, I think the lads will be revved up and ready to go and 1 trick pony Kear will have got them firing. I think Cas might concentrate too much on a forward battle and if we dont get sucked into this, throw the ball about a bit the big pitch might just catch them on the hop. Hope so, cos I really fear a long season so would be nice to get a result.

Heart says we might just sneak a 12-16 thriller, head says we'll compete for 60 minutes and end up losing 8-24.

I honestly think you're too lightweight and (for the mo at least) lack any kind of depth to the squad.
I can't see you winning more than a couple of games all season. Without any radial recruitment plan - and soon, I can see you finishing the season on minus points.

apart from the last bit, I dont think you will find many who disagree. We will pick up the odd win along the way though as we allways do, but bottom of the league is calling.

Still think as a 1 off for the first week we can pick a win up, we normally start the season well dont forget.

Sums up my thoughts; any new owner has to be coming in with a plan to pick up some new players and fast, or be resigned to a gutsy season resulting in the wooden spoon.

after a spirited effort from you guys i think in the end our strength in the pack will take its toll on a lightweight wakey pack and cas will win comfortably in the end.

I'm nervous. I'm one of the Cas fans who fears Kear and wakey even though they are in bad times. I'm not predicting a scoreline as I really have no idea.

I think we will put on a performance but probably loose by 8. 18-26

I think cas will be a little bit poorer for the loss of westerman and shenton.
It's the first game of the season so hard to call, I think it could go either way equally I think we could lose by twenty odd points.

I'm more worried that if we do win we could go into the next couple of games with too much confidence and blow it, need to get back into + points asap,and catalans and salford will be two of our easier games. Still wonna win tho

All our lads can do after all the recent trials and tribulations, all our lads ought to just do is play the best they very can and treat match this season as if it really is our last match. As for Saturday's game, keep the likes of Orr, Chase and Widders quiet, then we may sneak this one 20 - 16 to Trin.
