Notice that Fev have released Josh Sunley and Jamil Chisholm. A couple of years ago Sunley was one of the most exciting prospects in the under 19`s league. Saw him play for Leeds under 19`s and under 20`s ( not sure what it was called then but you were allowed to have several over age players in the under 20`s matches ), he was fantastic, played at fullback and was the nearest thing to Jason Robinson as ...... Jason Robinson. Not sure what has happened to the lad ; injury , gone of the rails ?? but he should have made it, he should not be been released by anyone. He was the most gifted gifted runner with fantastic footwork. I remember speaking with some of the Wakey lads after a game and they said that he could move as fast sideways as he could forward and often they were left grabing thin air. Anybody know whats gone wrong.
Chisholm I think was another Leeds junior, a big strong winger, I also think he was the lad who scored three very well taken wingers tries against us at Fev in the pre season game. On that performance he would have been our first choice winger this season.
Got to think that some club who keeps an close eye on the `lower` leagues will give these lads a chance.

These two have hardly played a game between them for Fev this season because they were not good enough so we should go nowhere near them.

I am sure you keep bleating on about giving our own youth a chance and now you are saying we should sign 2 players deemed not good enough for the Championship.

No I havn`t been drinking, I wish , what I said was that Sunley was one of the most gifted players in the under 19`s / 20`s league a couple of years ago. The guy was fantastic. I was asking if anyone knows what has gone wrong. ( Imagine if Wigan released Bateman who then goes to Sheffield where he can`t get a game and is relaesed by Sheffield ) . I was also very impressed with Chisholm in the pre season game. I did not suggest we should sign them I asked if anyone knew what had gone wrong and beleived that someone would give them a chance.

I don't know much about Sunley but Chisholme is a good prospect IMO. Colton Roache has also made way for the new influx of players at Fev and is worth a look at.

Sunley was behind a few other prospects at Leeds, never made it his own at Fev.

Chisholm played SL a few years ago for Cas under the name Dwain Chambers. Big Strong, Lightening fast. Cannot catch. Cannot defend.

I remember it well Smokey - 5,500 Cas fans were duped into paying a tenner each for a friendly against York during the season. He did out-shine Ritchie Owen though on the other wing - more tackles and didn't let as many tries in.

Unbelievably that was 6 and half years ago.

I have seen quite a bit of these two and belly is right in what he says about their talent and potential when juniors.

For what its worth I think we would have got more out of them than the couple of jokers that Leeds palmed us off with at the start of the season.

So if Chisholm is that bad what does that make Briscoe ? Chisholm over Briscoe anyday of the week for me.

Sunley has a bit of a spark about him, backs up well, and was popular with the fans after a couple of brief appearances in our pre-season friendlies. Trouble is he is tiny, although he does play above his size (including taking on players twice his size in punch-ups!).
Chisholm is very quick but seems to lack game sense. I remember one of his tries against you he went through a very weak Mathers (I think) tackle when he really should have rounded him with ease given the momentum he had. Not sure he has the all-round game that's needed in a wing these days.

One thing about Chisholm he is fast,Can't judge him as a Fev player they are shocking at looking after young wingers.They want instant success that why they are second in the championship.chisholm would be a threat.
Featherstone are proving to be good comedy value they announce last week in the clubhouse that Brought,Ferres,Crabtree were approached.instead it's sieka,Trout,Pitts.

Briscoe is back at Leeds now at least, played for them last night. As interchange hooker?!

I M O we should be more interested in what’s happening to our own . Having wasted the best crop of players we had in years , it looks like we will see yet another year of non-production , before anyone quotes last years 16s I am referring to the senior 19s , to me the 1873 brass is been wasted season after season , the standard of coaching in the 19s is as bad as I have seen it , you only have to look at the league table for proof.  

"Fev are shocking at looking after young wingers" - can we have a few names here please? Given Wakefield have been turning out Mathers & Owen on the wing lately, I'm not sure many of your fans would be pointing the finger at Championship wings - it's debateable whether many of the guys Wakefield have fielded on the wing lately would be unseating Will Sharp for instance.

As for Fev announcing those "transfers" in the clubhouse last week, wrong again. It was a throwaway line on the end of a long press release. And yes that approach sounds pretty daft. But given the league structure next season, using phrases like "comedy value" about Fev might come back and bite you on the bum one day.

Nobody disputes Chisholm is fast, but there's a whole lot more to being a successful wing in the modern RL game than having speed.

Yes I agree, however I am prepared to give the club a bit of slack because this year our priority is survival.
Next season is different and I would hope if we are still in SL the whole junior set up is given a massive shake up.

Did you see Briscoe last night. That kid has talent. All he needed was to be played properly. Far more talent that most of that Wakey squad, yet couldn't force is way in. I can see the reason you are struggling, and I can see the reason the coach ended up going.

Give over, he did ok. The reason he didn't play for us was because he was gash and couldn't be d and he didn't want to be here.

As for being more talented than most of the Wakey squad that shows how clueless you are. Accept it luv, rubbish though we are we are still a few levels to high for the brother of the good Briscoe.

Sorry ,but neither Briscoe impressed me especially Tom,who is vastly overated in my opinion.

Vastman, I know you are on your own board, so the showing yourself up is not as bad here, unlike what you do on other boards, but think about what you put.

I was implying if he had being played properly and given a chance to in a correct role, he would have succeeded. He wasn't played properly by your coach and in your team. Your team is failing, your coach failed, does that not tell you something?

Most of that squad is very average. Briscoe came back from not playing for you, and suddenly he is in the Leeds first team. That is a massive gap.

The point is, you should have played him properly, and you would have had a good player on your hands, and therefore a better contribution to help your survival.

Keinhorst on the other hand is garbage, always was. Said it when you signed him, and whether Leeds or not, he isn't good enough to get in your squad.
