| You say there are jobs out there and you just have to be willing to do them, but I have lost count of the amount of jobs I have applied for since I started college last September but the amount of employers that actually get back to you about them is pretty poor tbf. And would it not be for my age I would be applying for jobs that include nightshifts, but as the law stands I can't.I would also like to add that not all teenagers/students are laybouts, its not very fair to stereotype todays young 'uns on whether or not they have a job even if they are looking for one, there probably has been and will be again, a time where you have been unemployed so by your wisdom that would make you a "workshy layabout" yeah, didnt think so..... And was there any need to start lowering the tone by chucking about insults? Not really....

I presume that you are now 17....
And going to 6th form
Therefore you are entitled to EMA which is worth up to £30 a week, and it’s paid straight into your bank account!

| It's all about needs and wants, you need a season ticket, new shirt, transport.
I want a season ticket (well perhaps not after this season!!) want a new shirt etc.
I can't afford to have everything so I pay on the gate when I go, try and blah some cheap rickets when I can, where a 3yr old shirt (not a 3 yr olds shirt!!) and the difference is I'm paying for it.
No disrespect to you as I don't know your situation, but most teenagers need everything because they aren't having to cough up, bit when they get to your age and you say earn some! Take some responsibility, it's ooh this isn't fare.
The reality is it only gets unfairer as you get older (although much more of a laugh!!) so go out and get a bit of work to help subsidise doing something you love.
Do well in your studies get a good job and then you can afford everything I can't.

I saw a thing on the telly about theme parks in the summer holidays saying that some of those start charging adult prices for 12 year olds, now that is shocking. Seeing as watching Trinity is often like a rollercoaster you should enjoy as you are saving a fortune is £30 odd quid into Alton Towers...

| Quote ="i8no-one"My sister attended Medical school ( cow got the looks and the brains) she worked 3 nights in a local Restaurant to get some cash. The student who needs to do 5 hours extra per subject is telling porkies, if my sister can qualify as a medical doctor on 10 hours extra revision in total per 7 day week, and still get a bar and waitress job, then so can anyone. The demands in that degree are higher than any other.
I know that you Students are lefty pinko commie types, but dont worry, once you qualify and get a job in middle management you will be scumbag Tory voters demanding a rise in the cost of leisure activitiesicon_biggrin.gif'"
I'm nothing if not a pedant....
