Indeed the club are going with the clear policy of minimising the walk up attitude many RL fans have by encouraging supporters to pre-purchase which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The only problem with this I find is the lack of opportunity for people to buy the tickets from anywhere else but the club shop. This is why a city centre presence is vital in the run up to a match.
Most people might not make it down to BV, however many will make it into town and if the tickets were available from, say, the outlet the club occupied a few weeks ago then take up would be greater IMO.
Thankfully the competitors in the race for life need only bring their race number or email confirmation to gain free access. If I was a club official I would be canvassing the runners as they finish with the news they can get free access to the afternoons match. I would also go a stage further and allow their family (limited to two adults and three children) to gain free entry too to make it a real family day out.
