| Just looked on the fixture card I got from the turnstiles and it says 3 pm
kick off....... I would have thought these days there are a lot of people
that have to work as normal on bank holidays and a 7:30pm kick off would have been better.
The attendance will take a right hammering with a 3pm kickoff methinks.

I hope that's a mistake!
The Easter break tends to be Friday/Monday in Lancashire, whilst Yorkshire go for Monday and Tuesday.

| A 3.00 pm KO on Good Friday in Yorkshire is an excellent way of ensuring a small crowd.
Not only will fewer away supporters not travel but those Cougar fans who work on Good Friday won't be able to attend either; and I thought that the Club needed money!
Obviously mistaken.

| I have looked in various places, and everyone of them says 3 p.m.
Gonna be a lot of dischuffed fans unable to get to the match.....
And players too, i presume a lot of them work full time.
Wonder if the club would be able to change it at this late stage.

| According to the rfl website (if its right) in our league on good friday.
The 2 other Yorkshire home games are evening kickoffs. The Northwest games are afternoon games.
Our game is shown as an afternoon game, very surpising as we have always played in the evening on good friday.
Though this year I miss it due to been in Jersey for a milestone birthday for a member of my family.

| My workplace and everywhere I've worked in the past has had Friday and Monday off for Easter
However, if I remember rightly the Easter Friday game was always played on an evening
Has anyone mentioned this to the club?

| I contacted our Chairman about this and he confirmed the 3pm kick off. The rationale he gave was as follows;
"yes the kick off is 3pm. I discussed it with Barrow and it was their preferred time to allow their fans to get to Cougar Park and also not have a late trip back. Barrow tend to bring quite a lot of paying support with them so it's economically viable for us to have it at that time.
I'd be nervous about an evening match these days as Saturday evenings aren't well attended (Swinton match this season for example) so I think, these days, Friday evenings wouldn't be as well attended as they were in the past. Certainly, when speaking to some Super League CEO's, they don't like Friday evenings as it hurts their consumer crowd although they did admit they had more corporate customers attend on Friday evenings."
Please don't shoot the messenger, I just thought I'd ask the question. Personally, I'd like to see it played later and am a little concerned that it seems a tail wagging dog scenario with Barrow having maybe too much of a say. In terms of the travelling Barrow Army, I'm not convinced they bring that many. Looking at their last 3 games they have only achieved over 1,000 last weekend against Haven in the Derby. Other than that they have averaged at between 800-900, one of those being away at Workington. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see many attending that game.

Very, very poor decision by the Chairman IMHO.
I can see there being many disgruntled Cougar fans, and rightly so.
Since when did we ever want to give the opposition and advantage in such a vital match for us?

| I can't work at the moment due to a past injury so not sure which way it goes now with
Good Friday, but, have presumed more worked and took Tuesday off instead.
I suppose we will not know the true answer till a week on Friday and then as usual it
will be too late.

| I have booked it off, although I do normally finish on a Friday between 12.30 and 1.30,it has been know for me to get stuck in the office late,I didn't want to take the chance. You will find there are many Cougar fans who will miss Good Fridays game because they cant get the time off work, this area traditionally has always worked good Friday and many still do,but that's okay because at least the Barrow fans wont miss it.

| How many places still actually use this antiquated tradition still?
Nowhere seems to have the old Keighley Feast week off anymore, they knocked that on the head when I was in Middle School.

| What a joke.
We are playing at 3pm so not to give the Barrow Fans late night long journey home.
Ok. Lets go back in time afew years. 2007, we had to go there on a Wednesday night after Barrow had a good run in the challenge cup.
Then the following season, Barrow decided to play their home games on friday nights.
Did nobody think of us having a long journey back late at night after them games?.
BTW, its not a dig at the Barrow fans who are a great bunch.

As it happens I can make Friday and will be going. However, I used to work in manufacturing and we had Monday and Tuesday as the Easter break. Many of our customers and suppliers also worked good Friday. If we wanted Friday off we had to use "floating holidays" but only so many were allowed from any one department.
What irks a little is that we have done this to please Barrow (nothing against them). I can't remember other clubs going out of their way to please the opposition. We should be doing whatever gives us the advantage.
If it works I'll be the first to say well done for doing something different. We'll have to wait and see.

| Is it too late find some middle ground?.
How about a 6.30 or 7pm KO?.
That would allow as many cougar fans as possible to get there and the Barrow fans to home at a reasonable time.

I work in manufacturing also. Apart from a few souls making urgently required product who'll be paid at a premium, I believe our factory is closed. To be fair it's largely irrelevant for me as I work my hours over 4 days and hardly ever work Fridays.

| I'm hatching a plan to be at the Barrow game and, from a purely selfish point of view, the 3.00pm kick-off would suit so as I can get back up here in good time. I think I'm in the same boat as the Barrow fans, although heading north east rather than north west.
.
Just as an aside, I attended Gateshead Stadium to watch the Cougars a few years ago having checked several media sources, all of which confirmed that it was an evening kick-off. So there I was, bedecked in red, green and white, looking forward to a Keighley victory, only to find tumbleweed blowing through the car park and all the doors and turnstiles locked. The match had finished about two hours earlier. I'd have been well annoyed if I'd travelled up from the hometown. Luckily, I was home in ten minutes.

| Is our 'Chairman' a complete and utter idiot?
This is a 'home' fixture so why does he allow the 'away' Club to decide the Kick Off time?
I can only hope that we will be able to 'field' a full 'First Team Squad' - as (obviously) there must be no work problems in Yorkshire, which is unusual for Good Friday!
Will Barrow GUARANTEE to provide suficient PAYING supporters to compensate the TRUE Cougar supporters who will be unable to get to the game and thereby reduce the 'gate' income?
That said, it's great to know that the Cougars are in such a brilliant financial position to allow the opponents to call-the-tune! WILL BARROW RECIPROCATE?
After all is 'said and done' we'd better win or it's relegation staring us in the face!
