| Congratulations guys, well deserved win today, you were miles better in every department.
[url=http://www.yorkcityknights.co.uk/36783-cougars-maul-pointless-knightsHere's my match report if you're interested.[/url
Cracking hot roast baguette from the Progress Café, it was my only highlight today! I hope the charity raised plenty of money too, good luck to them and the little girl, and good luck to the Cougars for 2013. On that showing you will be absolutely fine.
Please can you turn the PA system down a touch though? My ears are still ringing...

Many thanks today to everyone who once again supported us in buying wrist bands and donating your hard earned money to our bucket collection, the collectors today were Estelles three elder sisters Shannon, Siobhan and chantelle along with Gemma and Bradley, many thanks to them also, the total raised was £232 which will be donated directly to Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK.
Estelle managed to walk beautifully onto the pitch with Danny and Buster.
Now onto the game
It was great to see a good win today, yes there were more points to be gained that didn't come off but never the less a win will have done wonders for the lads confidence, more so because of the fact a strong defence kept York from scoring a single point, well done lads.
Now lets see a good win at Dewsbury next week to back it up and we will be riding high
Well done lads and well done Marchy
A few of us will be walking to Dewsbury next week as part of our training for this year's charity canal walk, if anyone can commit to walking any distance of any day of the charity canal walk this year (14-17 August) then please email awalkforestelle@hotmail.co.uk for further information or log on to www.awalkforestelle.org.uk
Thanks

Some people will always look for excuses, one fan on the York forum is claiming that we tripped, held down, high tackled, shoulder charged, stood offside and forward passed our way to victory
Oh ...... and we had the ref in our pocket.
Some people will never accept anything that does not meet their expectations of what should happen.
The team really wanted it today; I say TEAM because it was a real team effort all across the park.
We did what we haven't been able to do so far this season - play intense focused rugby for 80 mins and cut out some (not all) of the silly errors we have been making.
It's good to see players coming back from injury and less D/R in the team - that long pass from Rollo to Barnett was a peach.
A big pat on the back to the players and coaching staff. With the amount of possession we had, it could quite easily have been 60 nill today so there is still work to do in that final 20 metres of attack, and no disrespect to York, but they were lucky to get the nil.

| I agree with Rach a much improved performance. I thought the white shirts made the team look much bigger and was easier to see.
Need to build on this at Dewsbury.

| Great to see the lads get a win at last yesterday. Good work all over the pitch - a real team effort which paid off. Dewsbury will be a tougher nut to crack - got to put that hard work in again to get a result there. Any chance Cosgrove could stay with us a bit longer? I was on the scrattin shed side terrace yesterday and he was over that side for the first half; by eck he wasn't half getting stuck into his task, and then he popped up with the interception as well. A great game for him.
.
The kit: can we please have a white home kit next season with our red & green 'V' on it. Like Wakefield's this season but swap their blue for our green.

| Still here folks I haven't vanished
I have to agree with most comments on here we looked the best we have so far this season, still not perfect but hey a wins a win. We played some great rugby against York and for me the man of match was Brendan Rawlins he really give it everything. It was great to see us get that first win and see the players looking happy with them selfs.
My honest opinion, yes I enjoyed the game and we did play some good rugby but for me it was nothing to get carried away with. I think we all new we were going to keep York quite and put a few past them due to their injuries and DR players they didn't have compared to their previous games. I aren't taking anything away from our boys because it was a massive improvement but to beat york doesn't get me thinking we are ok and are going to start winning games and climbing the table. For me now looking at the fixtures the only games that I think we will struggle with are Dewsbury, Workington, Sheffield and probably Hunslet as they are fielding a good Rhinos squad
Workington is a tricky place to go and get a win but that goes for any of the cumbrian teams.
So for me at the minute yes I'm happy we finally got a win but we are a long way off from saying we are going to be ok. I will still be there backing our boys against Dewsbury and the rest of the league, Come on COUGARS.
Just quickly on the shirts, can we please just wear the white one from now on. I thought the team looked great and very modern so much better than the horrible green thing. I will definately be buying the white shirt and especially since its going to a great cause, well done to everyone who puts the time and effort in for this charity because off the field for me its the only thing our club has anything to shout about at the minute. One thing that hasn't been made clear unless I've missed it. Is all the money paid for the charity going to the charity or is the club having a cut, also who is taking the money for the shirts.

From what I've been told, the club is taking all the money from shirt sales, however Walk For Estelle get to keep all the players shirts at the end of the season to auction off.
