Leigh are not playing at their best at the moment ,Paul R seems to be still a little unsure about his best 17 , and their positions , however i still think Leigh will win , Charlie goes for a score of Cougars 16 - Leythers 30 , if we start playing well then we could get 40 +.

We were in the bar after the Swinton match having a laugh and probably one to many beers. We all agreed that confidence looks a bit shot at the mo and some of the players need to get their head in the right place.

What ever anyone says about JD, this is a different side to the one he coached, but in those flashes where we play with aggression, passion and desire we actually look a reasonable side.

The difference between us and Swinton was desire and confidence. They played with more of both than we did.

Marchy has a job on his hands and I don't think he can do it overnight. I've seen us with poorer ability sides and in worse positions than this.

Anyhoo, to the Leigh match. Myself and another in our group agreed that we could beat Leigh, so much so that we agreed that we would drink Diet Coke all day Sunday if we loose



The winning try will be a clone of the March break in the Halifax match with White on his shoulder to glide in under the posts.

Why would Leatherbarrow be the MOM, he's one of the worst halfbacks we have had in a long time. One of the reasons were not scoring when we have been on the opponents line. Never takes the line on, kicking game is poor. Even had kicking duties taken off him last week and given to Jones

So I suppose you'll be getting your playing shirt on then if he is that bad Mr Hicks ?

Apart from his kick offs, Leatherbarrow has offered nothing else to the side, neither has March.
But that will probably be all Barnetts fault

Why does Leatherbarrow been our worst scrum half for years warrant me putting a shirt on. It was always going to be a mistake signing a young halfback. Small names from big clubs dosnt work, thats why Wigan let him go.

I thought Scott Leatherbarrow was a part of a strategy of signing big names.

Also in the pipeline are, James Haythornthwaite, Louis McCarthy-Scarsbrook, and Jamie Jones-Buchanan?

Mr Hicks - This thread was started as a bit of fun to gauge peoples opinions about the upcoming game. This was my prediction/opinion based on what I have seen so far. I accept Scott has some development, but has played in an under performing team so far and I can't name many shining lights.

Why you feel the need to attack the opinions of others baffles me, but I know you have not made a prediction yourself as yet. Maybe you could grace us with your superior knowledge and when you are proved right we will raise our hands and bow to you.

He is a young halfback with a lot to learn. Some of his play has been excellent, some of it not so good - if he was the finished article we wouldn't be able to afford him.



That is a generalisation that does not always stand true. Wigan let Shaun Long go as a youngster. I remember it well because he went to Widnes who were a very poor side at the time. They absolutley tore us to shreds and the main tormentor was one Mr Long.

They also let Bobby Goulding go, were going to release Sam Tompkins at 16 years old and St helens let Lee Briers go. I could probably go on but those are the ones that spring to mind without trying.

Many top coaches in RL admit that pressure to perform/cost mean they loose loads of young talent, sometimes for good.

Now now Mr.Hicks , it was just a stab at sarcasm ,with with you claiming Leatherbarrow
was so bad I just presumed you were going to join the team to replace him ......

Back on thread! Some of you seemed to fancy us scoring 46, and were pretty accurate on the 'gate' too! So, come next Friday, I may just be back on here asking for a random 6 numbers between 1 and 49!



Seriously though, good luck for Thursday and the rest of the season. You looked vey useful for the first 35 minutes and there wasn't much in it, up to then.

The score was about right , we didnt play as well as we can , again , but you are not a bad side , you will be OK this season , both your wingers have a decent turn of foot , keep the faith .
