| Hi all,
Just wanted to let those of you know that maybe interested in how Jd's getting on at his new club Northern Pride that he has finally got his first game in charge out of the way in front of 14,000 fans and yes you guessed it he's got off to a winning start and I'm sure there will be plenty more success to follow for him and his team. I know he's keeping an eye on this forum and what's going on with the cougars.
Well done jas hope it continues to go your way and you have a great season.

Think to be brutally honest there is more chance of me becoming a page three model than seeing Mr Demetriou strolling back through the gates of Cougar park ....

| you make me laugh rach with your one liners.
Northern pride lead 20-12 for most of game only to concede a late try making it 20-18 to Jd and his team. Jd was happy with their start especially defence but says their is still a lot to work on. They payed cowboys 20's.
I have to agree Jd has been the best coach we have had since the likes of Larder and he is going to take some replacing. Not only just ability on the field but everything about him as a professional person. I can't see him jumping on a plane anytime soon and walking through the gates of cougar park.

| Well done JD, sounds like a good start to a new career. However it is worth bearing in mind the following when considering attendance:
[i"Northern Pride head coach Jason Demetriou has announced his squad to play the North Queensland Cowboys Under 20s at Barlow Park this Saturday, kick-off 5.30pm.
The game is a curtain raiser to the NRL trial between the Cowboys and St. George Illawarra Dragons, which kicks off at 7.30pm."[/i
Even so it's still fantastic and one which many UK SL clubs would envy.
More here: [urlhttp://www.northernpride.com.au/news/[/url
I liked JD - he was honest, said it as it was and was thoroughly professional. I might be a bit controversial here, but I didn't rate his coaching tactics any higher than other coaches we've had. The main difference he made for us was his force of character and the abilty to change a game by bringing himself on and making a difference in terms of onfield leadership, drive and will to win.

| I see that Sam Obst and Semi Tadulala are playing for Northern Pride. Got to say I like the name, Northern Pride, I don't know if its got anything to do with the George Hotel and "the sprite of Northern Union" but to my mind it sure sounds like it ............ Bradford should never have changed their name!
What's the chances of doing some sort of link up, a twinning of the clubs and allowing us to screen the latest Northern pride matches in the bar before the Cougars play? just an idea, it might bring in some extra revenue, I'm sure Northern Pride will have their version of MICKY1920.

| Semi Tadulala got a try or 2 under his belt I think in his first game for northern pride and I am just awaiting info on how to watch there games as I believe they do stream their games live. I must say I'm a big fan of their colours and the new jersey they wear is very nice.
Yes it was a curtain raiser but it must have been fantastic playing in front of a crowd like that. JD was a nice guy and personally I haven't met a rugby player like him, a very genuine guy that really wanted to take the Cougars brand to a whole new level but unforunately wasn't always fully supported. In my opinion JD as a coach and especially a player has not been replaced by the club, we are definately missing a leader on the field. The games we have played so far including the friendlies there hasn't been any one leader in our team and no one has been able to come on and have an impact like JD. I'm not saying JD cannot be replaced but there is some pretty big boots to fill.
