| I was at the Q&A evening amongst many more and a question was asked about marketing games, free tickets and schools etc. Gary's reply was that there was going to be 2,500 cougar pound tickets worth £5.00 going out to all the local schools for the batley game, now if you are going to do something like this then you would get them out at least 7 days before the game as like myself most families plan ahead for there weekends. I like most on here have children or family members that cover most of the local schools and when I have asked the question of have you received any tickets they have all said no, my question is WHY has this not been done. Gary stood in front of us all and spoke truthfully to everyone regarding the club, this should have really been marketed as potentially there could be a few hundred people in Keighley for the torch.
I personally find this a let down yes it is only a small thing to some but how much more from that night was lies or promised and just not been carried out.
Hopefully someone can confirm what went wrong if anything did or was it just another smart answer from our chairman.

| I too have discussed this and I'm sure there is something preventing you from piggy backing the torch relay due to sponsors etc. which, if true, could mean tomorrow is not possible in a marketing sense. I agree with you, it should have been done days in advance to get the word out. Some "potential" fans may have made plans not knowing the game was on later? I personally feel that the club see's sending a text and placing it on the website as sufficient. I don't and you are only hitting the season ticket holders and fans who would ordinarily be going to the game anyway. I would have expected to see that bit more done to market this, but another missed opportunity one feels.

| Tomorrow will be a day to remember in Keighley with possibly thousands of local people out in the Town. I know what Most Rugby fans think abou Football but it all ties in for the England game tomorrow. People could watch the Torch the come down to Cougar Park and watch the England game after in the bar. Nothing seems to have been done in regards to marketing this match around the town. I really hope the club make a presence of themselves tomorrow.
Hopefully im wrong but surley the big wigs within the club must see this as potential revenue through a little extra work. If not then im affraid we are in trouble as a club. Hopefully im wrong though.

| Unfortunately without a load of marketing or just getting cougar park involved in the whole day tomorrow within the town then turning up in town and handing flyers out or just been there shouting come down to cougars won't work. People will already have plans for tomorrow after the torch, you might get the odd few that will turn up but no big numbers and most importantly no families.
I hope I am wrong and I know in my prediction I have guessed an attendance of about 1000 but I have an horrible gut feeling that cougar park could be a washout and I'm afraid the club have them selves to blame, if they had thought about this and started the build a few weeks ago we could have had over 2000 there tomorrow easily.

| It would appear that 'Rach' is the only conduit to the Club from this site - unless I am mistaken (and I apologise in advance if I am).
Does Gary believe that he is omnipotent?
If so, then why doesn't he do something, in fact ANYTHING, about the concerns of the true fans and supporters?
If Gary is really concerned with improving our lot then he needs to take notice of the people who pay their way via Season Tickets and the turnstiles!
In this instance will he (or Rach) explain why (apparently) so little has been done?

| Providing the weather is ok, I will be watching the torch in my replica shirt to take on my share of advertising. If it is raining I will put up my Keighley Cougars umbrella.... I hope other supporters wear there merchandise and create the supporters presence felt even if the club themselves aren't visible around the town during the torch visit.
Anybody else going to try do their own advertising and show off shirts or scarves or whatever?

| I think the free tickets / Cougar Pounds is a great idea however it is branded.
I had never been to a rugby league game live and Matt Foster came to Eastburn School years ago and gave my eldest a ticket. She nagged and nagged me to take her and I was hooked.
Many years later I would like to think Cougars have had a good return on that investment.
Surely every paying Season ticket holder needs to appreciate it as the club investing long term. Everybody has a story of how they came. Many were brought by their parents but some including myself were dragged along by their kids.

| Well said 'MICKY'.
After being dragged down by my father in the early fifties, along with his uncle Tom (who used to play for Swinton in the 1930's) whenever he and his wife came across from Gorton to stay with us, I eventually went down with my mates on August Bank Holiday Monday 1962 for the traditional 7.30 KO game against Northern nad have only missed a few home games since.
We introduced our children to the then 'Cougars' in the 90's, first our son, followed by our daughter for the Good Friday game against Batley.
It sickens me to see Keighley people wearing 'Bulls' and 'Rhinos' shirts in Cougarland. They should be ashamed.
The problem is; how to get more children (and parents) involved?
After today's debacle it will become more-difficult by the game!

Cheers Rachel.
If only people actually did stuff instead of moaning about it. I was given about 400 tickets and me my daughter and two of her friends walked from one end of the torch run to the other handing them out. If only more than us and Bakewell tart had been serious about helping on the day then we would have been nearer a thousand

Your Sporting Chance and the Foundation were involved in the planning of the Airedale Event and the whole 'Our Town Our Future ' Initiative with most of the planning meetings taking place at Cougar Park.
However for us to have a presence on Sunday was always going to be difficult with everyone's involvement on a matchday .

I think your wrong with this one we collected some vouchers "cougar pounds" from school during the week plenty of time to sort out - we actually brought some extra kids with us and they had a enjoyable day -who knows they will now be pestering mum and dad to come again - i think this has been a brilliant idea and from what i have seen distributed out to schools - certainly East Morton!!!!!
How can you feel let down - i wasnt at the Q&A as i was working so carnt comment on other promises made that night by the Chairman but as far as i can see the Chairman and Board of directors are trying there best, Do you have a problem with just the Chairman? As it comes across that way

| Here we go again. It dosent come across that way at all. It comes across that "on the terraces" is concerend just like a lot of other people are down at the club about why the crowds are not higher. The majority of people on here want the club to succeed. Maybe certain people on here should realise that all it is, is constructive critisism and the end goal we want out of it is the club to succeed. No 1 has axes to grind. I think if people are that bothered with the Chairman they wouldnt go to watch the club anymore and would not put oppinions on how the club could do better.

| I think our chairman, whilst not perfect, is at least trying to get things done. It's not his full time job and has no support staff.
The schools are the way we will succeed. Most of the people I watch the games with started by receiving a free ticket at school. It's the way forward and it'll start happening......slowly.
